M'y take from this: 1-You dont know about the deep warp, something that even the chaos Gods fear. to put it in perspective , if the universe is an ocean,then there are différent levels of it. The chaos gods are near the surface ,just deep enough to not bé Seen ,but close enough to see the details of what happen above the surface. The deeper you go,the bigger and more dangerous the creatures are. The Tyranid hivemind would be like a massive whales, wandering and swallowing everything it can fit in its mouth.The Souls of Mankind would the size of krill. 2-The Emperor is not the strongest psyker to ever exist. Eldrad, an eldar who cannot access his full potential due to slaneesh pulls is on par with Daemon magnus who was stated to be just behind Big E in term of sheer power .The Eldars in the war in Heaven where stated to surpass Eldrad in sheer power by a Necron Overlord. Then there are the old one who Crafted both the Eldars ,the Kroks and all of their Gods.They had to bé powerfull enough to still have power even if Necron pylons were to be used. Big E would be Strong sure ,but Far from the levels of the Eldars heroes ,their gods and The Old ones. 3-As much as you may give crédit to the Emperor and his power, The Feats of The Silents king are More impressive. The fact that thé Ctan was shattered but not destroyed by him is simply cause if he did ,the universe would have a collective breakdown(as seen with the Flayer).Hé has millions of years of Expérience both as a rouler and a commander since the WOT lasted more than a 100k years on the low end. Also What could Big E do if Szarech taped the sun on the celestial Orery?like wHat could he and the Imperium do to stop it.100billions guardsman wont win against supernova on command. 4-Yes, the Imperium could possibly destroy the Necrons, in their CURRENT state...if they could afford it. In the Other way the current Necron Could destroy the Imperium ...if they cared.The lack of care of the Necron and their constant infigthing is what allowed the Galaxy to survive the Necron awakening until now.The Imperium migth win, but it would be a really phirryc Victory at best . 5- An actual interesting thing in that kind of debate that nobody mention but is huge,is that a Ctan called the Emperor and mankind the last plan of the Old ones.He called the Emperor a weapon. There are spéculation that for the Old ones, the ultimate weapon against the Necrons would be a enhanced version of The Necrontyr, with warp powers.There also the fact that a Big Ctan shard was on earth for several millions years and that the Eldars did visit earth several time before. The theory goes that Big E know the Silent King, who may have advised him on certain points( his expérience with the Eldars gods and the ctans),That maybe how the Void dragon got sealed on Mars ,with Necron help.

The problem with saying something liké that is implying that the currently setting is more Dangerous/Has less powerfull beings than the War in Heaven. Need to Remind you that Human Big E was a psyker of Average level in this war, gods regulary fougth in Grudgematches that obliterated entires system. There also a likely chance that the Golden throne is a remnant Weapon from that age witch would explain why Big E need to eat a Thousand souls a days to sustain himself :the thing is tailormade for gods,hé was not one. There are known necrons overlords who we know defeated Eldar Gods in single combat and they are all considered Inferior to the Silent King. He is the most important character in the setting, Without Big E there no 40k, Without Szarech there is no Warhammer, no chaos gods , probably no nids coming to the Galaxy,no humans created. And since hé still has authority on all Necron weapons, The amount of power he currently hold is far greater than anything Big E has (Celestial Orery, Breath of the gods, Space eating Trebuchets).There a good reason why the Imperium avoir the Necrons Held world if they can, cause nobody want to have a 1v1 against the species that won the war in Heaven.
