You mentioned that Damon will not reveal that he is a quadruple elemental mage until he is super strong and if I were in his position I would do the same. But doing so will put a limit on the potential of this fanfic, just think about it if Mo Fan never revealed that he is dual elemental mage the Versatile Mage novel would not have been as good as it is. Damon will always have to put a limit on himself when fighting in public and he have a mana pool 4 time bigger than an average Mage, people are not stupid and sooner or later someone will notice his unnatural amount of mana. It would be better to reveal that he is a dual elemental mage and be done with it. I know it will cause him some problem but unlike penny less Mo Fan he have some foundation, with his lore knowledge and 'Golden finger' he can make some connection and carry some favour which he'll able use to ensure his safety. And if his life is a smooth journey it will not be a fun read.
