We get to see many different small story arcs in different eras told from the people living in there as well as the occasional input from the godlike being.
What I liked was how the worldbuilding was fleshed out with these short stories.
Unfortunately it was a bit boring to read. The time skips were really big and the story was kind of all over the place.
