I was really expecting Veronique to be rotting in a dungeon. Or ordered to stay in her room at least. He knows she tried to finish Lilith off!! Dang
Just noticed this paragraph popped up twice. I don’t really care b/c it is a very well written paragraph that coveys a bevy of undercurrent.
A low sound tore from his chest, deep and guttural, his jaw clenching hard enough that I saw the tendons strain. His head tilted back, throat bared to the shadows, as if the simple touch had ripped something raw and unwilling from him.
