I barely found a few boxes of 7.62 mm and 5.56 mm bullets, totaling around 200 rounds. To be fair, that was a lot of ammo compared to what we already had, but not enough in the long run. Definitely not enough if we're going to use weapons constantly, and judging from what I know about this world, we're eventually going to need them to fight off hostile survivors.
