What Evans has just done is replicate the move [Flare Blitz]. Evans got this idea as he was going through his memories of his past life and realize 'why can't I do that?' And so with the idea in mind, Evans spent the two years through trial and error on how to surround himself in fire without burning himself. The first time he tried this, he burnt off the hairs on his back though, so he made sure to avoid fully surrounding himself in a wall of flames. To his delight though, he found that he was unharmed thanks to his naturally fire resistant scales, likely fueled by the energy in his flame sac.
