I agree but don't forget that in the previous chapters he had a small spat whit the Japanese carrier and the heard him talking about betraying his own faction. And iIbelieve the Japanese to be more suspicious for outsiders then the soviets.

Well the soviet navy is quite small in the game and during ww2 so he can easily convince them in joining since the are still tensions between them and the Americans/ Uk
