Interesting characters, interesting interactions but most of all, the self-awareness of the author criticizing himself and other writers for being inconsistent and falling into tropes and cliches when they have nothing else to write.

It's a good novel. Grammer is rarely off and when it is, its a spelling mistake such as "in" instead of "I'm". It has pretty vivid descriptions of sceneries and assists in imagination but also allows the readers freedom to have a unique image in their mind.
