It would be one thing if they were exchanging losses for wins. But eight months into the war, and France had yet to gain a single victory worthy of note. The only reason Paris had not been seized already was because the Germans were what one from the 21st century might call "farming the French soldiers for xp…" at this point.

Bruno had initially designed the ships on the LCM-8 from the Vietnam war of his past life. They were more or less an improvement upon existing designs used by the United States Marine Corps during the second world war a few decades earlier.

They most likely didn't have time to set them up due to them not expecting to be pushed back very quickly and easily.
One would need dedicated anti-tank weapons if they wished to take these armored cars out, and these AT guns would need to be considerably larger than what the Germans fielded at the end of the Great War to deal with the pitiful tanks of the era.

HE shells don't care about angled armors, only how thick it is.
The simplest solution to the introduction of the Panzer I by the Germans would be to modify the stokes mortar, and make it fire a shot directly at an oncoming tank. Would it work as planned? Probably not. The overall shape of the Panzer I design that Bruno had brought to life in this new timeline had slanted armor which protected the tank from HE explosives that lacked overall penetration.
