someone wrote in a comment that rose accidentally put her blood on Mallory's drink or food. so my theory is: she indeed saw a future and heard both Reagan's thoughts about the midnight plan to kill mallory, and Mallory's resolve to turn to a vampire in order to avoid ghouls hunting her, so she made her drink her blood and pushed her off the stairs to complete the transformation process. that way she saved Mallory from both Reagan and the ghouls.
where was that, I probably skipped that, in which chapter was it? also Mallory did drink headon's blood too in the "healing" chapter.

properly because she just consumed vampire blood before the fall. someone sneaked vampire blood in her first drink that she didn't like and pushed her off the stairs to complete the process. my guess is that the culprit is the 4th original vampire that hadn't appeared yet, only his servant in the first chapters. his plan is to sire mallory and have the weapon to himself.
