Your story is great, and I'm really enjoying my time reading it. I don't know if you are still looking for ideas or not, but I thought I'd offer some anyway. hisuian arcanine - ice and grass coverage, faster travel, sinnoh region pokemon he could find mamoswine - grass coverage, evolves by learning ancient power which pupitar already knows Swampert- all round great mon, could use elm's research as a base to have it learn the ability water absorb to counter all water mons Torterra- another great mon but mostly just water coverage, but is shinnohian could be another bunker/wall Golurk- every team needs a good ghost and even though it's kalosian I feel that ghost/flying/water mons would have the easiest times moving between regions Nidos- one or both just powerful and versatile mons that have extensive move pools Sandshrew/slash and/or drillbur/excadril- i put these with there preevolutions because it could be situation where the mole(s) found and ate an everstone. They could be on the team for their ability it find and excavate gems/resources/evo stones whatever for travel money. Claydol- teleport/travel, special def mon with fighting coverage Diancie- make it a regular evi of carbink somehow not mythical, can perform the same role as claydol with its psychic moves but has access to batonpass to take advantage of its extensive setup moves, allow it to learn healing moves like most fairy's and with access to gravity it can take the role of team coach/training aid/healer Alolan golem - it's a stretch but maybe he can find a geodude it a heavily magnetic area while searching for nospass or something. Fossils you could probably get around saying you can find all types of fossils in any region but some are more rare depending on region and he could have the affore mentioned mole pokemon find a bunch and sell the ones he doesn't want to train himself. Don't know if you will even read it but feel free to use or ignore any suggestions, I just wanted to try and contribute to a great story. Keep up the good work.
