Before that scorpion was always known to be stronger & faster than Spider-Man... Otto was astonished & humbled at that very moment... Otto realized how easily Peter could have killed him... In an alternate universe, Norman instantly got cured of his insanity after Peter told him that he's going to kill Osborne after he killed Gwen.. Norman ran for his life. He was just that scared!
When Kingpin nearly killed Aunt May, Peter crushed Kingpin effortlessly, clearly showing that Spider-Man could have easily killed him if he wanted to.
