Turning thirty is like a big sale at the meat market. You have to go on a discount before someone starts considering you.
And that's not the only problem Evonne Willard has to deal with, because right now her biological clock is ticking and she realizes that one morning she might wake up with white hair and a walking cane as her only companion.

Enter Ulysses Bloembergen, the man that possesses all the traits Evonne has ever wanted in a mate: tall, hot, smart, and an overall gentleman--all the perfect genes for her baby. All she has to do now is ask him nicely to donate a little sperm so she can conceive.
But damn Logan Bloembergen-- Ulysses's smart-mouth, no-good cousin with the title of number one Casanova in Malaysia--has to come stirring up trouble.
And now, under the influence of hormonal imbalances, Evonne finds her craving for a baby might not be enough, for she is beginning to crave the love of one of these men.
Excerpt:
When the door opened, a naked torso faced Evonne. Not just any old torso, but a hot, muscled, six-pack naked torso. She blinked and blinked, and then she blinked some more.
She couldn't understand why a grown man would be wearing a towel, just a single white, fluffy towel wrapped around his waist, to answer the door.
He was leaning against the doorframe, one hand supporting his tall, lean, muscular body that, Evonne noted, any female would want in her bed, including her.
Not that she'd bedded any male, of course, since she was still a bloody virgin, for Lord's sake.

I gaze up and notice the colors lashing out of an angry paintbrush over the horizon. The knot in my stomach is a vivid notification, reminding me of being as irritated as the enflamed and ginger tints marking the sky. From where I’m sitting, the towering volcano in the distance looks lonely yet proud.
I marvel at the magnitude of nature rendering the likes of me insignificant. I’m just a small biological mass cowering at the foot of a fire goddess; nothing special. The prickly patches of grass and barbed brushes under my naked legs recommend moving. I inspect the scrapes and welts around my hands and knees with renewed vigor.
By the time I distinguish the human shape from the other obscure and creeping shadows, it was too late. A sense of annoyed inconvenience forces my head to look up at the person blocking my view. What I thought I’d see was a family member. What I see is two deep, gilded eyes set in the moon-pale skin topped with dark hair rivaling black lava. I feel every last nerve recoil into tiny prickly hairs, standing straight up.
The view of the man in front of me is a complete opposite rendition to fire goddess I just venerated. He is an enormous portrait hauntingly hanging in mid-air. My mouth dries rapidly but the trio who live in my mind become rather loud and verbal:
“Run!” and “Hit it!” and “Stay calm dearie, for your safety.” As so many times before in my life, I ignore them altogether.

Leo walked over to Jessica and lightly kissed her. -Aren't you going to welcome me home after a hard day at work?
She sighed. -Must you insist on keeping this marriage going?
His eyes widened. -You're the one who's going to change this room. I took that as an indicator that you planned to stay.
-Only for the month, I'm required to be here.
-You'll spend the rest of your life here, he replied.
The fact that he seemed so sure of himself made her that much more determined to prove him wrong. She crossed her arms and glared at him.
He ignored her open rebellion. He gently took her by the elbow to lead her to the couch. -Will you have a seat?
-No. She didn't budge.
To her surprise, he picked her up in his arms and sat down. He held her close to him and sat her on his lap. She was too shocked to react in time to stop him from kissing her neck.
She pushed aside the delightful sensations his kissing produced and quickly stood back up.
He had amazing reflexes for he grabbed her hand and said,
-If you don't sit by me, I'll pull you back onto my lap. Or we could go upstairs and make sure you don't leave at the end of the month.
She loudly sighed so he would understand how much this pained her and plopped next to him on the couch.
He chuckled. -Now that wasn't so hard, was it?
She refused to look at him. She wouldn't let him get to her. She wouldn't fall in love with someone she was forced into marrying.
