It's his only real tool to deal with the environment he's been thrown into, and to consistently take that away from him leaves a bad taste in the mouth. I'm still hopeful that the author has some greater meaning behind these episodes but i hope that that meaning comes to light sooner rather than later as this is getting frustrating
