I'm dropping this novel. Up until around chapter 70, the story had a decent pace but lacked world-building. I enjoyed Noah's gradual development and the new skills he gained. However, the sudden introduction of a forced dark past for Noah contradicts everything we've read so far. It feels like the author decided to shift Noah into a villain without any prior buildup. A slow build-up with tragic events gradually pushing Noah to the dark side would have been more effective. Instead, the author handles this in an immature way, making it feel like childish wish fulfillment. It's too cringy for me to continue reading.
Thank you for taking the time to respond to my review. However, I must respectfully disagree with your assertion that the introduction of Noah's dark past was not sudden. As readers, our feedback reflects our experience of the story, and many of us found this plot twist abrupt and forced. While you mention subtle hints over 50-60 chapters, these were not sufficient to prepare us for such a drastic shift in Noah's character. The example you provided, such as Noah's choice not to save the old man, did not convincingly foreshadow a dark past. Instead, the sudden revelation feels out of place and disrupts the story's flow. A gradual build-up with more nuanced and tragic events leading Noah to the dark side would have been more effective and believable. The current approach feels like an immature attempt at adding depth, which unfortunately comes across as wish fulfillment rather than organic character development. Thank you for your efforts, but this abrupt change has made it difficult for me to continue enjoying the novel.
