Bias Review: Based on what I read so far, this book likely could be a good one. Sadly the MTL will disappoint you. Parts of names are still in Chinese. For the sake of immersion this will ruin reading experience. Personally I will be going on Qidian to read. I only read the free chapters so far so I can't indicate if this book is worth it but so far it is done very well. The author has done his research. The main character is Dean Price, it is referenced that he might be a transmigrator as in the beginning it indicates he had strange thought and unstable mentality, it could also be similar to the novel the great director where he is suddenly given large amount of future information. Probably only time will tell on this one. This story isn't some Chinese nationalist bullshit. The author pinpoint everything good and bad of that times America, zero words about China or any comparison. Bias Review: I do like me some cultivation story. This story seems to take at the point of view of two characters, a father and a son but mostly the father from what I have read of the free chapters. Pretty ambitious for the author. The author is also the writer of "My Senior Brother is Too Steady". This was quite popular in China and is written fairly well so I expect no less from this author. Sadly the translation is MTL and not a very good one, but what is worse is bad MTL with no edits. So this story is going to my Qidian list where I will read on Qidian (in Chinese) and use my own better MTL system. Bias Review: Pretty good book, decently written. MTL isn't half bad either. Not particularly big fan of these novels. Here are somethings to note 1. This is a type of novel where MC goes into another world, fight/survive then return to reality. The content could get stale after a certain point. 2. Since this is on supernatural/ghost etc. China have heavy censor on this. This book's quality could easily shift to bad or outright get axed. I'm not a particular big fan of this genre where there is both real world and game world and more often than not they are done incorrectly. This feels more like a fanfiction of World of Warcraft or something similar than anything else. Note, that isn't necessary a bad thing but this one is written a bit poorly. MTL is okay, I guess. First off my opinions, this story is pure MTL translation. The story development and character design are inconsistent and below average. The world background is in the USA unknown what year. Li Ang died of corporate life in China. He gets a new lease of life in the US. Forget about Leon none of that matters, he doesn't exist (MTL mistranslation with zero editing). Names in the novel is inconsistent, in one part some dude called him Li Ang but the MC corrected him saying his name is Li Ang. The author loves to chide on the US despite writing a story about the US. If you are expecting realism, don't. But enough of me. To the stats. This story was probably on trial read 3-4 years ago, probably due to the generic copy and paste like many of the novels out there of the same type, it didn't receive what Webnovel believed to be "popular" thus it got dropped and now brought back with a rebranding of Ai art or stolen art and sub-par MTL translation either by Webnovel themselves or a no integrity translation group that knows neither English or Chinese, and their source material comes from a pirated site. This is why you see reviews from 3-4 years ago. But anyways, enough about my opinions above. Here is the raw and stats base off of another review and what I found on Qidian: Title: 我修炼开了外挂 Author: 周流星位 Status: Dropped Count: 152 chapters Last Update: March 14, 2021 The author is a Lvl. 5 which is abysmally low. Pretty sure the author stopped writing or changed pen name. As this "book" is his/her latest one and as seen above that was the last time he/she updated.

Read this as a 24 hour free book. It is pretty decent to read considering the MTL they used. There is a clear difference between the truly free chapters and the locked chapters. Somehow those free are better than the locked one. The characters in the story are pretty decent and the world is just one world, not some dude going to one place then another bigger place and the old place gets forgotten.
