As we eat, I multitask and start hitting up my menus. I've gained a reasonable chunk of Levels thanks to all the fighting, but it's a drop in the bucket compared to what I need for my next evolution. Level 52. I can accept that. It's respectable. I've little doubt the experience will start raining down once we get into the fifth proper.

Exactly. Colony have been using they when speaking about Anthony since begining. I think it is supppsed to show that they understand that Anthony is not "she" like the rest of them but they as ants have no concept of "he" .
That is why we repay them in kind. Regardless of the pain.
