Bab 242: No Self-preservation

"You truly have no sense of self-preservation. I have to keep a keen eye on you because every time I turn away, you're trying to harm yourself."

"Davien," Bel called and broke into a fit of coughs.

"Don't move," he said and pulled his seat closer. "Here, drink," Davien said, stretching a cup to her lips and helping her to drink.

Bel took a gulp and coughed some more. "That's not water!"

"No," he replied. "Isaiah—that's his name, right?" He waited until Bel nodded before he continued. "He said to give you this as soon as you awoke. It would do well for you to drink the rest of it."

Bel frowned. There was a tic in Davien's jaw, and he looked like he was holding his anger back. She could understand why he was mad at her, but at the same time, he had no right to be.

"Drink," he said sternly, stretching out the cup to her lips again.
