Nadine and Meylee, who were currently supported by the butlers, reached the edge of the river. The river was deep, and the current could push them away from danger. However, the moment they stepped in closer, a Water Elemental blocked their way—a creature resembling a golem but with a body made up of water.

Then, a barrage of sharp rock spikes attacked them, instantly taking them all down with just one attack.

"How pitiful; your friend did his best until the very end just to help you escape... But it seems his sacrifice is useless." The water elemental spoke, and its face turned into Kanon's face. "You can't escape from me. Oh well, if you kneeled before me, maybe I would make your death quick and painless."

"We will never kneel before people like you. If fighting till the end will offer a long and agonizing death, then so be it," Nadine said.
