Bab 100: 97th Adversary: Dragon X Dragon
"Infinite Demon Dragon!"
The silhouette in front of Miko disappeared. A completely different being appeared. She had a pair of black horns on her head, and a metallic mouth mask with a snake in the shape of the infinity symbol on it. Her arms were covered with black scales which looked like they were parts of claw gauntlets. She had a pair of red dragon wings on her back and a scaly red tail which turned black at the tip. She was wearing a black sleeveless trench coat with a red demon on the back, a red top, black bottoms, and a pair of armored boots. Her hair was a burning red and her eyes had an Ouroboros symbol in them.
"Well….This could be interesting."
Miko said with a smile. Luka looked at him with a fierce gaze. It felt as if he was being stared down by a dragon.
(Miko, I feel the presence of a powerful demon lineage in that girl.)
Ishma sent a message to his mind.
"Which one?"
(Beelzebub/Baal.)
Miko's eyes widened a bit before he started grinning.
"So she has a bloodline comparable to my own demon lineage."
*Bam!*
Luka moved with an explosive step which shook the ground.
"She's fast!"
In an instant, she was already in front of Miko. A wall of darkness formed between the two when Luka pulled her arm back.
"This should-"
*Bam!*
The wall was shattered by Luka's fist. The fist flew straight for Miko's head. He used wings of darkness to fly back. Luka flew at him like a rocket. Miko created a ball of darkness in his hand and fired it at her. Luka faced it head-on and swat it away with a punch.
"That's some impressive strength."
Luka flopped her wings and accelerated. Miko spread his arms open and dozens of vortexes appeared behind him.
"Black Bombardment!"
The vortexes fired powerful black beams at Luka. She maneuvered through them and still headed straight for Miko.
"Heh."
Miko smirked and move his fingers. All the beams which passed Luka bent and started chasing after her. With beams coming from all sides, Luka stopped and spread her arms. The Ouroboros in her eyes started glowing and the infinity symbol appeared on her palms.
"Infinite Barrier!"
A red sphere surrounded her and blocked the beams.
*Bam!* *Bam!* *Bam!* *Bam!*
The beams hit the barrier and caused cracks in it, but the cracks would always be repaired a second later. Miko noticed this and stopped his attack. He lifted his hand overhead and darkness started gathering in his palm before melding into a spear. He grasped the spear and threw it with a sonic boom.
*Bam!*
The spear hit and shattered the red sphere. It passed Luka's head and hit the ground. It exploded and caused an explosion of darkness which left a crater in the ground.
"As I thought, as long as that barrier isn't destroyed in one instant, it will continue to repair itself. I think I know what your proxy abilities are from the symbols on your body."
Miko smiled.
"It's the power of Infinity right? If I remember correctly Ouroboros represents an endless cycle, an eternity, infinity itself. I now understand why Ouroboros' proxies are always hunted down before they reach their full potential. After all, if you're allowed to grow, you'll obtain endless power and maybe even the power to win this war."
He started to laugh.
"I finally get why you'd received a power boost whenever those infinity symbols appeared. You're literally boosting your abilities by tapping into the infinite power of the Ouroboros. However, there has to be a limit to how much power you can tap into, otherwise, this war wouldn't have lasted this long. The first Ouroboros proxy would've won this war eons ago. Or maybe Outoboros himself."
Miko's shadow suddenly expanded and an army of dark beasts slowly emerged from inside it.
"Let's test that limit shall we, Dark Horde!"
The beasts roared and charged at Luka with bloodthirsty expressions. Luka floated in the air and watched as the dark beasts charged at her. She slowly lowered her center of gravity and drew her arm back.
"Huh?"
The infinity symbol appeared on her arm and the Ouroboros in her eyes started glowing.
"?!"
A cold chill went up Miko's spine. His instincts were telling him to escape. However, he was too late. Luka thrust her arm forward the next instant.
*BAM!*
An invincible force instantly obliterated Miko's dark beasts and rushed at him.
"Black Shield!"
A gigantic sinister shield appeared in front of him to block the invincible force.
*Bam!*
The shield shattered. Miko was mercilessly forced out of the sky and into the ground. His body created a 200m trench in the earth.
"Guah?!"
Blood gushed out of his mouth. He struggled to sit up and looked down at his chest. There was a hole in his clothes in the shape of a fist print.
"What monstrous strength."
"Limit?"
He looked up and saw Luka walking towards him.
"Even if I have a limit who said that you'll be able to see it?"
"?!"
A childhood memory flashed in Miko's head. He had said those same words to Luka after she swore to push him to his limit and defeat him.
"….Ha…Hahahaha!"
Miko laughed and struggled to his feet.
"How have the table turned….Right, Luka?!"
He shot towards her with darkness swirling around his hands. The darkness transformed them into a pair of black claws. Miko swung those claws at Luka who swung her own.
*Bam!*
The two claws clashed and caused a shockwave to spread out around them. A pair of demonic wolves pounced at Luka from out of Miko's shadow. Luka's tail came from behind and pierced through the wolves like a spear. She threw a kick at Miko, but he suddenly fell into his own shadow and escaped. The shadow turned into spikes and stabbed at Luka.
She broke them with a kick and flew back. The shadow expanded and a black lion-like monster emerged from it with Miko in the center of it. The beast open its mouth to devour Luka who simply aimed her palm at it.
"Infinite Black Lightning!"
*Bam!*
A blast of black lightning shot toward the beast and completely tore it apart. Miko escaped the blast and pulled his arm behind him. Darkness covered his arm and fist. Miko thrust his arm forward and his fist. It transformed into a truck-sized punch aimed at Luka. With her right arm covered with infinity marks, Luka threw a punch of her own.
*BAM!*
The two fists clashed and caused massive shockwaves to spread out and flatten everything around them. The truck-size fist disappeared and Miko was seen charging at Luka, who charged at him as well. Black static generated in Miko's hand while white ones started appearing on Luka's. The two simultaneously thrust their palms. The palms clashed.
"Black Pulse!"
"Infinite Shock!"
*BOOM!*
An explosion of black and white static erupted between them. They destroyed everything they came in contact with. The two were forcibly separated by powerful recoil. Miko bounced off the ground a few times while Luka landed on her feet.
"Damn it…."
Miko sat up and cursed. A foot thrust towards his face. Darkness appeared behind him and pulled him out of the way. Luka's foot crashed into the earth and caused it to burst open. She looked at Miko and immediately chased after him.
"Woah!"
Miko ducked under a kick and dove to the side to avoid a hook. He leaped back to avoid another kick.
(I can't keep up in this form!)
He shouted in his head as he watched Luka charging at him again. He formed a wall in front of him and blocked Luka's punch and countered with one of his own. Luka didn't seem fazed and kicked him in the midsection forcing him back once again.
(It's not that this form is weaker than hers, it's just that it isn't suited for brawls like this. I figured this out during my days locked up in the Demon's Nest. This form is more suited for taking on multiple people at once and magic-based fights!)
Luka thrust her fingers at Miko's eyes. He bent his neck with all of his strength and avoid getting his eyes gouged out of his head.
(Luka's currently relying on monstrous physical attacks to break through the tricky attacks this form provides. I can still win if I formulate a plan to trap her and neutralize her physical attacks but….)
Miko crossed his arms in front of him and blocked Luka's fist. The force from the punch sent him flying back once again. His feet dug into the earth to stop him.
(I don't want that! I know I should kill as effectively as possible, but I don't want that! If I have to kill her, I want to do it with overwhelming strength! I want to challenge her at her own game and win!)
Miko returned to his normal form. When Luka saw this, she paused.
"What are you trying to pull? Is this your way of giving up?"
Miko shook his head.
"I'm not giving up at all. I'm just changing tactics."
*Pulse!*
Miko's entire body pulsated like a heart.
"I don't what you're trying to do but I won't allow it."
"Now, now. Little girl."
Ishma and Regis appeared in front of Luka and blocked her path.
"Why don't you stand there and watch? Miko is trying to make your fight as exciting as possible."
Regis said. Luka looked at them and then at Miko. She saw azure scales covering a large portion of his face. These scales spread to the rest of his body, covering his limbs.
Miko grew taller. In a few seconds, he was over 6ft tall. His eyes darkened until they were as black as the night. His azure pupils became slit like a reptile's and looked like a savage moon on the darkest night. His hair started moving like it had a mind of its own, as it hardened and became spiky and stretched down until it swept against the ground.
"Sorry for the wait."
Regis and Ishma moved out of the way and Miko started walking toward Luka.
"With this form, I can take up your challenge and fight you on even grounds as a fellow dragon."
He showed a wild grin.
"Say hello to my Dragonite Form."
"Dragonite?"
Luka smiled and took a fighting position.
"It looks fun."
*Bam!* *Bam!*
The two moved with explosive steps. They instantly appeared in front of each and exchanged punches to the face.
"Heh!"
They disappeared from where they were and reappeared several meters punching each other again. The two started slugging each other with fast and powerful punches. Miko hit Luka with a right hook and she replied with an uppercut. She kicked him in the stomach but also got her leg caught by Miko. He lifted her overhead and slammed her on the ground so hard it burst open.
He lifted her again but Luka twisted her body and hit him with a knee strike to the side of the head. He released her and was immediately hit with a roundhouse kick.
"?!"
Luka was shocked to see her kick blocked. It wasn't the fact it was blocked that shocked her, it was how it was blocked.
"His hair…."
Miko's hair moved and was somehow able to block her attack. Luka felt like she kicked a wall rather than hair. While she was distracted, Miko stepped closer and punched her in the midsection, and rose her off the ground.
"Guh?!"
Miko kept her in the air with an uppercut and spun around with a roundhouse kick.
*Bam!*
The kick blasted Luka into the remainder of the forest. Her body mowed down at least a dozen trees. Miko put some strength in his legs. He shot towards the forest mowing down anything in his path.
"Hahahaha!"
He jumped into the air. Luka's body was bouncing off the ground. Miko aimed a stomp at her. Luka looked up and her mouth mask opened up like automated doors, revealing her fanged mouth. Miko saw a red light gathering in her mouth.
"Shit!"
*BOOM!*
Luka fired a powerful beam from her mouth. It Miko head-on and blew away all the clouds in the sky. Miko fell to the ground with his body smoking.
"….."
Luka slowly approached him.
"?!"
That's when Miko suddenly sprung to life. He tackled her off the ground and slammed into the earth. All the air was forced out of her. He saddled her and started bombarding her face and body with his fists.
*Bam!* *Bam!* *Bam!* *Bam!*
Every fist that came in contact with her flash caused the earth to shake.
"Huh?"
Luka's tail wrapped around Miko's neck. She used it to fling him off her. She sprung to her feet and charged at him. She ducked under a punch and hit him with an uppercut. The infinity symbol was now on all of her limbs giving them continuously growing power.
*Bam!*
She slammed her fist in the center of Miko's chest and caused his body to flip before hitting the ground.
*Bam!*
She was swat away by Miko's hair when she tried to come closer to him.
"That hair is like a dragon's tail!"
She spat out the blood in her mouth and cursed. Miko slowly got to his feet with a bleeding nose. He wiped the blood from his nose and smiled.
"This guy…he's enjoying this?"
Luka was shocked to see that Miko was actually enjoying such a brutal slugfest.
"What's wrong, Luka? Is that all you got? I went to the trouble of using the form that I designed solely for brawls, you know? Don't disappoint me now!"
"Huh?!"
The veins in Luka's head started pulsating and she gritted her teeth.
"I should be saying that you son of a bitch!"
The infinity symbols covered her entire body and the Ouroboros in her eyes started spinning.
"Let's see how much longer you can last, you brat!"
Miko smiled and lifted his fists in front of his chest.
"This is the final round."
He charged at Luka and she did the same.
"After this, one of us will die and the other will walk away the winner! So let's go out with a bang, Luka!"
