Bab 2: Misunderstand
"Mum, I'm back!", Yang Wen Xue greets her mum in the kitchen after she returns from school.
"Oh, you're back. Go wash your hand, let's have lunch", her mum said while putting the beef soup on the table.
"Alright, ma'am!", she salutes.
Wen Ruo Xu smiled at her silly behavior and returned to wash the dish. After some time, Yang Wen Xue is out with casual clothes and helps her mum set the table.
"Mum, I will go back to the school later to search for material to prepare for the competition. Maybe I will be late, don't wait for me", Yang Wen Xue informed her mum while eating.
"Okay, be careful. Don't stay out too late", Wen Ruo Xu reminded her.
"Em", she nodded.
...
"Xue Yang, do you know her?", Li Fen Mu asked curiously.
"Who?", Han Xue Yang asks with his eyes static on his book, not caring much about Li Fen Mu's question.
"Yang Wen Xue ah, you don't know her? Then why do you say those things earlier?", Li Fen Mu was confused as his best friend make a disgraceful remark about a girl without knowing her. As he knows, Yang Wen Xue is a top student in her grade. Why does Han Xue Yang call her a whore?
"Who is Yang Wen Xue?", he still doesn't catch who is Li Fen Mu talking about.
Li Fen Mu sighs and shook his head in disbelief, "The one that bumped into you earlier"
Han Xue Yang realized who is Li Fen Mu talking about.
"Oh, that short girl that goes everywhere hitting on men?", Han Xue Yang makes a confused statement for Li Fen Mu.
"What?! Where did you hear this rumor? Oh, or do you see it by yourself?", Li Fen Mu asked excitedly. He is gossipy indeed. There is nothing he doesn't know.
"Isn't she Xie Hao Yu's girlfriend? But you see how she's faking her bumping into me, earlier that was a second time", Han Xue Yang said in his cold voice and put his book down as he was explaining to Li Fen Mu.
When Li Fen Mu heard that, he burst out laughing.
"How can you be so full of yourself, huh? Liking yourself too much is not good too, okay?", Li Fen Mu laughed until fell from his chair while holding his stomach that hurt from laughing too hard.
Han Xue Yang doesn't care too much and reads his book again. He is lazy to talk with the nonsense that Li Fen Mu says.
"You really think that little girl knows you, huh? How can you say that she was hitting on you?", Li Fen Mu asked while laughing historically. He doesn't know that his cold best friend also has nonsense though within his head not matching with his cold temperament.
"She is the top student in 11th grade, how can she know you in the 12th grade? You don't know, she is also crazy like you, doesn't care about anything except for studies", Li Fen Mu opens a story about Yang Wen Xue.
"Then?", Han Xue Yang replied coldly.
"Xie Hao Yu is the son of her mum's subordinate, that's why they are close", Li Fen Mu explains.
"And...that's why she's not hitting on you nor Xie Hao Yu, that's just your delusional thinking", Li Fen Mu said while holding himself from laughing further.
Han Xue Yang heard him and acts like he doesn't bother by it but in his head, the guilty is filling him inside and he is thinking how he should apologize to her. Also, he doesn't know her, he just knows her name by today, before he just knows her face as he always saw her with Xie Hao Yu.
Li Fen Mu saw Han Xue Yang's wrinkled face and know his friend is thinking hard to do something.
'Xue Yang seems different, usually he doesn't act like this', Li Fen Mu said in his head. He smiled widely as he saw Han Xue Yang's confused face while he thought he got it covered with his book.
