Bab 285: Bitter Redemption

The slave snapped his eyes open in shock, finding the collar around his neck cleanly cut off, leaving a red mark in its place.

A man, the exact target they had received an order to kill, stood before him, observing him with interest. A small wound on the man's abdomen leaked blood, but to the slave's amazement, a green glow emanated from the man's hand, effortlessly closing the wound.

'He can heal too?!' The slave's eyes widened in disbelief. How had they ever thought they could kill this being?

"Do you understand me?" Lucius, noticing the slave's reaction, prodded him with the sword, eliciting a flinch of surprise.

"You're from Earth?!" the slave blurted out, only just realising that the man spoke a language he understood. 

He scrambled to his feet, but a sudden punch to his face sent him crashing back to the ground, groaning in pain.

"Why did you attack me? I'm on your side!" The slave grimaced, clutching his nose as he lay on the ground.
