The moment Lucien entered and announced, both stared at her in complete surprise.

"You are making it sound like you are being sent to the battlefield," Efthalia commented a moment later.

"Marriage is a battlefield," Lucien boldly responded and made her way towards the table. "Marrying someone you (dislike) never know is like going to a war not knowing who your opponent is."

"..." Benjamin felt awkward with the atmosphere. "I'll excuse myself..." And left.

"What made you change your mind?" Efthalia rested his chin on top of his wrapped knuckles. "I thought you hated me."

"Of course, I still do," she answered not denying it. "However, my reason is different. It has nothing to do with any personal reason."

Efthalia narrowed his gaze. It was hard to believe. "Are you sure about this decision because right after you agree, there is no turning back."
