Bab 21: Chapter 4 (P6)

I stare before me as the door opens wide to a view of a clean house, there was no evidence of the events that occurred. Not a single drop of blood. I feel Mikey's hand release from mine and I flinch before my body snaps out of my thoughts as I follow closely behind him, scanning my eyes over every spot in the house. He runs straight up to his room and to the bed, sprawling out over it and grabbing several of his teddies. I begin to hear his soft cries and I slowly walk over, sitting next to him and pulling him into my arms.

"It's okay. . ." were the last words I said that were true that year; neither of us were prepared for what was to come, but all I knew in this moment in time is that it wasn't going to be easy from now on.

"It is my business when you're practically selling your body for your brother's benefit." He snorted, moving closer again and gripping my shoulder with his soft hands. I feel my body tense up and my heart skip a few loud beats. It takes me a quick second before I turn my gaze to meet his, sighing. "You and Mikey could have stayed with us from the start. London can't control who looks after you now, you know he's gone." He smiled softly and I turn my eyes away, debating on what to say.
