Twelve times they tried to get the man to open his mouth and say something about the motives behind the kidnapping. Twelve times they failed.

On the thirteenth time Serenica thought she saw his mouth quiver in the darkness. She looked closer. Suddenly the dead man jumped up and screamed.

"Talk to me!" the king-captain yelled. "Tell me what this is all about or you will never know what it is like to rest in peace!"

"I can't! There are things that are much more horrifying than that!"

The dead man started to scream again.

Spade forced the corpse down with sheer physical force. "Tell me where they are and why your people did this to me! I promise that otherwise you will simply not know terror like me…"

A gurgling sound echoed in the room.

"North…"
