Bab 18: Chapter Eighteen
I limped to the wall near the entrance of the room we fought in and leaned against it. I looked at Airc who was watching me while gripping his wounded shoulder. I sighed silently and watched him while listening for Captain Sean and the quad he brought to show up.
I knew I wouldn't be able to bring Airc out on my own in my condition and I certainly did not trust him. As such I stood watching him with my gun at the ready in case he tried to pull anything to try and kill me. I would not let myself let my guard down. I was not going to be fooled by the enemy.
I soon heard the others coming from upstairs. I wasn't positive it was them but given the time that had passed since I left the base it was about right. I looked at Airc who looked up as the sounds got closer. I watched him closely in case he tried anything. I then glanced over as several men with guns entered the room all of them wearing the standard military uniform of the US military.
I nodded softly before looking to Airc who looked at them then me. I heard the command for the soldiers to tie up Aric and I looked to Captain Sean as he walked up to me. I nodded to him even as I holstered my gun.
"You're injured. I'll get a stretcher to carry you out." I shook my head, "A shoulder to lean on and I'm good." He looked ready to argue but sighed, "very well if you say so."
He then looked around and spoke, "It looks like a bomb went off in here. Was this here before you came in or?" I spoke, "It's from our fight. We went to the old Weastern's style gun fight and it turned into a draw. After he got shot he gave up spouting nonsense."
Airc heard me and shouted indented, "I was speaking the truth! It was not nonsense. I am determined to marry you!" I groaned ion aspiration, "As you see…" Captain Sean's jaw dropped and stared at Airc, "He wants to marry you?"
I sighed, "Apparently, and you should have heard the crazy crap he said before that. Never before had I heard someone spout such nonsense with such a serious look on their face."
Airc spoke as he wiggled free from the soldiers grip even though he was cuffed and searched for other weapons already. "I am not speaking nonsense, I am dead serious about marrying you. I belong only to you!"
Now even the soldiers gaped at Airc's proclamation. I glared at him coldly before starting to limp out of the room heading out ignoring the pain in my leg. By now my leg had become covered in blood but I didn't care. I heard Airc shout out at me.
"Kanami get your leg treated. I don't want you to bleed to death! It would be such a shame to finally find the girl I'm going to marry only for her to bleed to death! Kanami! Ow! Damn it! Be gentle that hurts!"
I limped going up the stairs ignoring the shouts from behind me even as my head throbbed. This was going to be a nightmare if he kept doing this. I limped going up and out of the building ignoring the pain in my thigh. I didn't want to be anywhere near that shameless guy if I could help it. If I had to stay near him I was afraid of what I might do.
I turned to look over my shoulder as I felt a hand on her shoulder. It was Captain Sean. He looked at me and sighed before speaking.
"Let me offer my shoulder to help. Also you do need to treat your injury. I feel sorry for you as well. Never have i heard a guy ever say that publicly." I nodded, "I'll take your help. Also I know I need to get it treated and another thing, keep that maniac away from me." Sean chuckled, "Will do."
I nodded and leaned on his shoulder limping out of the buried building. I saw a couple of humvee's outside the entrance and nodded housing over to one. Captain Sean helped me and I nodde to him before I opened the door and got in sitting in it. I looked to Captain Sean and spoke.
"Could I get some gaz antiseptic and bandages?" Captain Sean nodded, "Of course, you're going to treat your wound yourself?" I nodded, "Yes, I've treated many injuries before so it'll be no problem."
Captain Sean nodded before heading to another humvee where it looked like the medics were. I looked over as the other soldiers came out with and non-stop talking Airc. I looked away with a sigh and rubbed my face before looking at my injury. I then looked up as captain Sean came for what I had asked for.
I nodded to him and took the stuff before I cleared my injury of the fabric of my pants. I then poured the antiseptic on my injury. I grit my teeth from the pain even as I took the gaz and placed it on both the exit and entrance of my gunshot injury. I then finished by wrapping my injury with the bandage. This was only a temporary treatment.
I looked to the others as they locked the building up and got into the humvee's. I looked to the others who joined me in the humvee I sat in. I nodded to them and sat back as the humvee started and we moved out back to the camp. I looked at the others and noticed they were either staring at me or trying to ignore me. I knew this was from what Airc had said before.
I sighed silently and looked out the window as we were already back to the camp. Being only a mile away from the camp made for a short drive which I was glad for so I could get out sooner and avoid those questioning eyes. This was all Airc's fault! He made the other be wondering what I did to make him say that. Though thinking about that I could say he was a masochist but I doubt that would make things any better.
I got out of the humvee once it came to a stop and I looked around camp before limping my way over to the medical tent. I needed to properly treat my injury by stitching it up. I entered the tent and saw the few medical staff there for this late in the night. I walked over to a chair and sat even as a medic came walking over to me.
"Corporal, What can I do for…" He had noticed my bloody leg. I spoke, "I need some saline to flush my injury and a sterile needle and thread to stitch it up. I will do it myself." The medic stared at her before he spoke, "What happened?" I sighed, "Just go get what I asked for. I'll tell you then"
I nodded as the medic nodded softly before going to get everything and soon returned. I rolled my pant leg up as the injury was near my knee after I took off the bandage. I grabbed the saline and gritted my teeth before I flushed my injury out to prevent infection. I hissed from the pain but endured it before I took the needle and thread and started to stitch the injury closed. I soon finished and looked at the medic.
"I got shot after catching an enemy tonight so…"
I shrugged and unrolled my pant leg and stood leaving the tent. I wasn't going to bother with the medic ass I limped headed to make my full report to captain Sean. I limped headed for his tent. I then was stopped as Togami came over to me. Before I had refused to let him participate in the capture of Airc. That had not gone over well with him but it was something I did for the best in my opinion. Although my opinion is biased.
