Bab 13: This Queen's rest
"Ugh!"
She messed her hair up in frustration and threw the phone on the bed.
"Looks like I have to get used to it first."
She pulled the blanket up her body and close her eyes. "I can't sleep!" She growled she wanted to toss and turn but, of course, she has to use a lot of effort in turning so she only stayed on her position and stared at the white ceilings.
Dawn has arrived before she finally falls asleep.
Then suddenly, a screeching sound rang on the four corners of the room. Waking up, Feng Xiaoxi was dumbfounded.
RIIIIINNNNNGGGGG!
"What is wrong with this girl? Waking up on four in the morning?!"
She turned off the alarm on the bedside table, of course not before hitting it a few times, knocking the alarm off the bedside table and falling on the ground with a bang!
That thing dared to disturb this queen's rest?! Hmp!
She again pulled the blanket up her body and closed her eyes to sleep.
RIIIIINNNNNGGGGG! RIIIIINNNNNGGGGG!
Looks like the clock is broken and continue to ring even though the alarm is already off.
Hearing the screeching sound again, she pushed the blanket down her body, annoyed.
"Shut it!"
She tried to give the alarm clock a beating again but she can't reach it. The bed is too high and the clock is on the floor.
After trying a few times, she gave up because she almost falls over the bed. Luckily, she holds onto the bed sheet and the bedside table to balance her self.
Feng Xiaoxi grabbed a pillow and positioned it on her ears, shielding it from the horrendous sound coming from the clock.
"Argghhh, shut up!"
This scene is going on when suddenly, the door was pushed open and the lights were switched on by Meng, the young maid.
"Young mistress, what's the matter?!" Meng in a state of panic. Thinking that her mistress is experiencing pain or something.
She saw her young mistress holding a pillow using it as a shield for her ears.
"Make it stop! Make it stop!" Feng Xiaoxi hurriedly ordered. While holding the pillows against her ears.
That alarm clock is going to make me a crippled deaf!
Quickly, took action but her heart aches to see the state of the clock was in.
This alarm clock is from Japan! This masterpiece is made by a weird old man that will only make a clock if you answer his riddles.
The Meng is thinking what did her mistress do to this clock to be reduced in this state.
The alarm clock is already broken so the buttons meant to stop the alarm won't work so she has to open it to remove the batteries.
When the batteries were out, the alarm finally stop.
Feng Xiaoxi let go and pushed the pillows away from her ears.
Finally, I can sleep in peace.
"Turn the lights off. I want to sleep."
Meng looks at her young mistress and saw dark circles under her eyes.
What's the matter with the young mistress? First destroying the alarm clock, now taking a sleep in four in the morning. She used to wake up at four AM even if she hasn't sleep that long because she can't sleep as long as it's already four. It's her daily routine.
Young mistress is an early bird!
Lately, she has been acting weird.
Feng Xiaoxi can't be bothered with Meng's thoughts.
Meng switched the lights off.
"If you don't have any instructions, I'll excuse myself."
"Mmmm"
Meng made her exit and silence ruled the room.
"Hello, wandering soul!"
