Bab 42: chapter 42

Sierra pov.

I've been here for days, and they've treated me like family. The safety and happiness I've felt make me wish this life could last forever.

Lying on the bed, the door swings open, and I turn to see John entering the room, carrying a plate of food. A warm smile graces my face as he approaches and places it on the bed. I sit up and look at him.

"Hi," I say, my voice filled with gratitude.

"Hi," he replies, his eyes reflecting kindness.

Since I arrived here, both John and his sister, Alex, have been exceptionally kind. Their whole family has taken care of me, and my heart swells with gratitude for this newfound happiness and sense of belonging.

John carefully lifts a spoonful of food to my mouth, and I take a bite, smiling in appreciation. Deep down, I'm troubled because I haven't truly revealed who I am. The fear of them discovering my secret, potentially leading to my exile back into the unknown, haunts me.
