Chapter 33: Shadow Reckoning
Amidst the chaos, a figure emerged from the shadows. Eli, the youngest of the Dark Six, sneered at us with malevolent intent.
"You fools," Eli spat. "You think you can defeat us? I'll show you the true meaning of darkness."
Eli's hands crackled with dark energy, unleashing a wave of shadowy tendrils. Josh stepped forward, his eyes flashing with determination.
"Bring it on," Josh growled, his shadow powers surging.
The air seemed to ripple as Josh unleashed his full potential. Dark shadows erupted from his body, merging with the night itself. Eli's attack was engulfed by Josh's shadows, neutralizing the dark energy.
Eli's eyes widened in surprise. "Impossible! You can't wield shadows like that!"
Josh's smile was cold. "You underestimated me, Eli."
With a flick of his wrist, Josh sent a shadowy spear hurtling toward Eli. The Dark Six member attempted to deflect it, but Josh's shadow magic proved too potent. The spear struck Eli with incredible force, sending him flying across the battlefield.
Eli struggled to rise, but Josh's shadows pinned him down. Dark tendrils wrapped around Eli's body, constricting like a living shroud.
"You should have stayed hidden," Josh whispered, his voice dripping with menace.
With a burst of shadowy energy, Josh banished Eli from the battlefield, defeating the Dark Six member.
Ryker's phoenix powers blazed with approval. "Well done, Josh. Your shadows are a force to be reckoned with."
Amanda's empathetic senses monitored Eli's departure, sensing the Dark Six's frustration.
"The others will come," Amanda warned. "We must prepare."
The battle raged on, but Josh's victory gave us a glimmer of hope.
