Dimitri POV
Twenty people. Hardly an out-of-control mob.
Dimitri smirked, surveying the pitiful response to the awful propaganda. Not exactly what either Luc or Irina had imagined.
"There is no Trenholm Curse," Father Athanasius declared.
Dimitri spoke with the full weight of his princely authority. "My enemies want to destroy me. And they are legion. They'll be found and dealt with ... and trust me, nothing will prevent me from protecting my home. My villa. My city."
He stood strongly in front of the gates, surrounded by the priest, the monks and the nuns.
"If there were the Trenholm Curse, you would all suffer horribly." He held up the leaflet. "This childish, amateurish thing is nothing more than a scare tactic. They didn't even put it out on vampire social media--that's how cowardly they are."
Ariana is just trying to make the best of an impossible situation (and sort out her growing feelings for Dimitri.)
