Bab 123: Revenge
Lyra, determined to find a way out of the Nightfall Mansion, carefully planned her exploration of the vast and foreboding castle. With only her known routes to the garden and the lab, she needed to discover any potential exits that could aid in her escape. As she meticulously packed an array of elixirs, each one crafted to counter various threats, Lyra couldn't shake the feeling of unease that crept up her spine.
With a deep breath, she ventured into the dimly lit corridors, her footsteps echoing off the cold stone walls. As she navigated the twisting passages, an unnatural chill began to permeate the air, growing more intense with every step. The atmosphere turned hostile, and frost rapidly covered the floor, creating a treacherous path.
Suddenly, Lyra's progress was halted, her feet encased in thick, unyielding ice. She struggled against the icy restraints, but they held fast, trapping her in place. From a swirling, icy mist, a figure emerged with chilling grace – Aurora, the Ice Vampire.
Aurora's eyes, cold and piercing, fixed upon Lyra with a calculating gaze. "Did you know," she began, her voice as sharp as the frost that surrounded them, "that Master Dante has been inquiring about my mother's demise? Strange, considering it occurred so long ago."
She stepped closer, each movement causing the temperature to plummet further. The air crackled with the intensity of Aurora's power, and Lyra felt the icy tendrils of fear grip her heart.
"It occurred to me," Aurora continued, her words dripping with venom, "that the alchemist Dante brought to our side – you – are the one responsible for my mother's death. She was the strongest vampire within the Nightfall Mafia, highly revered for her unmatched powers."
