Bab 50: Chp 50:Rescue
Layla's POV:
I ran as swiftly as I could, searching every room that had a strong scent to them.
That was untill I heard someone scream out in pain. I pinpointed the location of the scream and bolted in that direction. I could hear the distant echoes of the fight taking place between my brothers.
I reached a room that had two doors connected to it and entered one of them. There laid one extremely, exhausting, hungry vampire and a human boy in agonizing pain.
A brief sigh of relief left me. I'm glad they're both in one piece. Ren would've had my head if one of them was permanently injured.
I freed them both and began curing Lucas's dreadful state. Luckily I had heard what Robert would do to steal the ability, and managed to create an antidote before heading here. It also didn't hurt to break the chains as I am rather old for a vampire, making the silver in the chains useless against me.
Evan instantly bolted over to Lucas, embracing him in his own tired body. That must of been painful. He was soo hungry yet just merely hugged the meal in front of him.
Lucas's panting slowed down and stopped after awhile. I had managed to destroy that little disease Robert gave him. Luckily we were pretty quick otherwise the situation would of worsened.
I ruffled both of their hair into even more of a mess, attempting to cheer them up to leave this horrid place. I winked a smile and beckoned them to follow me.
The two leaned on each other for support. I mean, I could've carried them both easily but I didn't want to ruin the moment.
We returned to Ren standing victorious over Robert's unconscious body. I congratulated him with a cheer and presented my victory in the rescue by gesturing to the two following behind me.
Ren flopped the unconscious Robert over his shoulder and led the way out of the underground maze.
We reached the top and we all took a synchronized deep breath together. The fresh air never felt so good. The sun was setting and night was beginning to fall. I glanced over at everyone.
I can't believe I put these two in danger and even had to get Ren to help me solve my stupid problem I caused. All because of my stupid mouth.
I turned around and groveled on the ground, catching everyone's attention.
"Forgive me! I'm terribly sorry, it's all my fault Robert found out about Lucas. And I even had to get my brothers assistance. If you wish to hate me, you can." I sobbed, tears rolling down my cheeks as I begged for unworthy forgiveness.
My brother patted my head, comforting me. The other two staggered over towards me. Lucas lifted my chin and kissed my cheek. The sudden show of affection startled me and my checks grew warm with blush. "Thanks for saving me." He smiled weakly with what energy he had left.
Evan was also surprised by the kiss as he started to pout with jealousy. I understand, of course, since I stole a kiss from his lover.
Even whilst pouting he still managed to comfort me with changing the subject to something more up beat. "Alright well, we should head back now and rest up." He scooped Lucas into his arms, holding him in a princess carry.
I was not surprised to see the exhausted boy blush with embarrassment from the sudden hold. I chuckled my tears away and agreed, grabbing my big brothers hand and skipping forward.
