Daisy stands tall in enemy territory though she doesn't seem as affected by the poison as I am. It might be because the blades Durman used were poison. During our battle I wasn't particularly at 100% when fought. I must be exhausted due to the constant use of my aura. Taxing it can cause issues I even thought it's fully replenished. I can say I definitely taxed myself. Been doing it for awhile. It's not easy being a huntsman or particularly dangerous missions on my own but I can't lose anyone else. So I prefer to go it alone. Is it pride? Or fear? Sometimes it's hard to me to tell. At this point I've become numb to it. Heartbreak can do that to you I guess.
"Silence your Semblance and give us safe passage Durman" Daisy shouts. "I do not wish to fight" Durman simply laughs and throws a flurry of knives her way. She holds her umbrella forward and spins it and the blades bounce off. She waste no time and folds it running in his direction but he's gone in the midst of the poison gas.
"Huh?" Daisy backs up looking around for him. I definitely can't see into the mist. But I need to watch Daisy's six. I close my eyes and instead of using my eyes I use my senses. I can concentrate and sense auras. Daisy could possibly do it as well.
"Daisy don't worry about what you can see. Focus on his aura!" I shout.
"Uh" she turns to me "how do I do that?"
I see projectiles fly at her. "Daisy Jump!" She jumps but a split second too late. One of the blades hit her leg. Durman comes out of the mist and attacks with his dagger. Daisy recovers surprisingly quick and counterattacks twirling like a ballerina and blacking his attacks with her heel and then her umbrella. Shots fire. Daisy uses ice rounds. Smart. The poison gas could be flammable…wait of moment. If it's flammable I can ignite it with my divine flame and protect Daisy all the while-
"Now engulf my divine flame!" My flames spread out from me and ignited the poison gas. Daisy screams as the she's covered in it. A honest reaction but I can't just reveal my semblance ability. I see clearly now and I'm able to speak better. Durman ascends from the flame and flips backwards onto a large stone rock.
"Quite brilliant Red Vermilion " Durman praises my tactic. "But it matters not. U are still poisoned and now so is Milady"
He's right. But Daisy seems fine. Maybe it's because my flames are increasing her aura's proficiency. But that wouldn't explain why she was able to fight so well in it.
"Please give us safe passage Durman" Daisy pleads with him once more.
"Why are you so insistent with something that you obviously can not obtain girl?" Durman sits upon the rock. "The answer is tge same every time. You'd have to kill me to get past me" he smiles wickedly. I don't like him but I agree. He's obviously here to take her for a reason. A reason I'm curious about. But he's gone through all the trouble of trying to murder me and take her. He knew who I was meaning he knew he was in for a fight. No one who goes through all that trouble would just give up because they were asked too. She's better off losing that mentality and just going for the kill.
"I don't want to kill you Durman." Daisy places her hand gently on her chest. "Your life matters. Every life does. For all things are precious. Life shouldn't be snuffed our so casually. Please reconsider!"
Every life matters huh. Even the lives of her enemies. It's foolish to think that way. It'll only make her vulnerable.
"I know you have someone or something to fight for. We all do." Her voice cracks. She's passionate about this. It's something she believes in. And it reminds me of…Vale. My old team leader. The leader of team VALR. She was always hopeful and believing in the preservation of life overall. I loved her. She encouraged me. Was a light in my heart. But then…
I must've forgotten how that felt. To hope. I look to Durman. His smile is gone. Replaced by a serious scowl. Almost like he's contemplating her proposal.
"You're trying to save me." Durman states. "It's not going to happen."
"But-" Daisy vegans but is cut off by a blade piercing the ground at her feet.
"Listen closely girl." Durman begins "I agree that life is precious. But the idea of all life being precious is nothing but nonessential bullshit. No one cares for one another unless they can get something from them. Whether that be love, money, pleasure, etc. Everything in this world requires an equivalent exchange. That's how the world works. There is no fairytale ending. No gods, no true peace. Only darkness and devils. Now I'm taking you with me. Like it or not."
"If that's your answer" Daisy began. "Then I will reject you and your logic."
Durman descends and they continue their battle. Moving quicker than ever. Both almost given power by their ideas. They move like blurs. But I can see Daisy is struggling. It's becoming one sided.
They separate after dealing blows to eachother. Daisy is covered in cuts and daggers. She breath heavily. Her aura must be drastically weakened. She won't last much longer. I still need some time to heal before I can help. This isn't looking good.
"Looks like I'm pushed to my limit" Daisy states.
"Better surrender now before you're dead." Durman licks his lips "though carving you up shouldn't be too much of an issue if you're still alive."
Daisy mouths something and gets on her knees. She looks up closing her eyes and interlocks her fingers. She looks to be preying. But they her aura magnifies. I don't need to close my eyes to see it. It's…visible. It looks like a flame around her. I can feel the power from here. And judging by the look on Durman's face he is also surprised. Though his surprise turns to true urgency. He rushes toward Daisy.
"No!" He screams. But light explodes from Daisy and I'm blinded for a moment. I turn away. And when I look back she's revitalized. She stands dusting off dirt but I see what looks like large plant like creatures helping her. Huh?
I wipe my eyes to see if I saw that right. And I indeed do. Daisy is surrounded by chili plant like creatures with adorable features. She pats one on the head and it giggles. There has to be like 20 of them in all.
"So it's true" Durman states. "Your semblance turns natures into animated entities."
That's her semblance?! I'm surprised and yet it kinda fits her very well. Strangely.
"No silly" Daisy giggles. "Just a variation. Now go my friends " she points forwards. Daisy's "friends " rush's forward with their stubbly legs towards Durman. He throws knives to kill off his assailants but it does nothing. The blades pierce through but they keep going. They all tackle him to the ground and dog pile him.
"No! This can't be happenin-"
"Farewell friends Daisy waves, turn away and plug one ear with a finger while jumping in the air towards me. All the plant like creatures glow brightly and boom. A large explosion as Daisy descends slowly at my feet. The forceful winds from the explosion blows her dress up and Daisy "Epps" holding it down
"Well that was a real tussle " she smiles at me. I look to where Durman was. Nothing was left but a large crater.
I'm speechless. That veteran was just killed by the personification of cuteness.
"So Red." Daisy began. "We should probably get some rest huh"
I simply stare at her in awe.
