So Michael took out his cellphone, hesitated for a while, and called home to the old mansion. Michael's heart was heavy as he waited for the call to get through.

He had never told his grandmother about Leah's condition because he didn't want her to worry. Until now, she didn't even know that Wendy was missing. If he called her now and asked for his mother to do the bone marrow test, his grandmother would surely asked what happened.

Just as he was considering all of this, the call got through. On the other side was the familiar and gentle voice of his grandmother, "Michael..."
