Sebastian's eyes roamed around the parking lot. Mr Lee had just set him up. "Stay right behind me woman, someone's here," Sebastian said and Eva his secretary froze in place.
Seb opened the left front seat door and helped Eva settle inside before he opened the other door.
Crack! Crack!
The sound of a gunshot filled the air as Sebastian held his left arm tightly. "Argh!" He winced in pain as his eyes spotted a retreating figure. 'Such a coward, he didn't even check whether I was dead or alive.' Sebastian mused forcing himself to enter the vehicle.
"Sir, are you okay?" Eva asked worried.
"It's just a scratch don't worry," Seb said smiling off the good pain threatening to make him break any minute. He refused to be weak, he said no to breaking down. He would disappoint Crane and his accomplices.
He would not wither right before his enemies but he would give them the brightest smile ever. He was right before Eva's apartment as directed by her.
"Shouldn't we go straight to the hospital?" Eva asked looking at Sebastian who smirked in return.
"I said it's scratch and am fine," Seb said gesturing her to leave and she did.
"Argh!" He groaned looking at his bloody shoulder as his face turned red. He didn't expect it to be this painful but again he had to act like nothing happened to him. He knew there was a lot more than this to come his way.
He still had his father to fight and Alexander was not just anyone, he was his father and much worse his power and influence were not to be ignored. He had all it took to step on him like an ant.
He forced his tramp to a nearby hospital and his wounds were tended. However, his body remained weak and anyone could detect that something was not right.
"Inject me with vitality tonics, prescribe the the dosage after this," Seb said and the guy nodded.
"I am still an intern in this hospital though, I may not be as perfect as you intend me to be." The young doctor say her head bowed low.
"Then no need for records, nobody will find out that you injected me with some damn tonics." He mused and she nodded.
Going back to Bestow would mean one thing, his cover would be blown and he would not dare to let that happen. An apartment would be better.
"Old Mr Lee, there's blood all over the parking lot!" One of the assigned secret agents reported after the call went through.
"My son must be behind that." Old Lee replied disconnected from the call and immediately called to compliment his son for being smarter than him.
"Good job son," He praised smiling from ear to ear and Crane looked at the screen shocked. Why would his father praise him so lively when the deal with Anderson was not yet sealed?
Did Anderson secretly seal the deal with that good-for-nothing son-in-law of his? He snapped throwing his phone on the bed angrily until he heard his father's second statement of praise.
"You got rid of him earlier than I expected." Old Lee said smiling and Crane snapped.
"I didn't do nothing, father." Old Lee froze in place. If his son had no hand in that then it meant only the enemy was in charge.
Crane turned towards the figure beside him. She was too weak to do anything at the moment. He smiled kissing her forehead happy about their moments a few hours ago.
"Send me the CCTV footage of everything that happened." Old Lee said hitting hard on his bed. How the heck could the security team be so reckless?
"Everything is negative sir." Reported his employee. Old Lee smirked, he was too bright to be fooled. Whoever was behind that attack must be a high-ranked employee. Someone powerful enough to tamper with the systems.
"All right." He said grinning. He hoped that Seb would survive the attack. He would build up rage within him and with that rage he would dig his perpetrator by himself hence remaining the only fool to be eliminated in the future.
He was sure that currently, that guy held more power and influence in the company as CEO and so he needed him to uproot every venom within the company.
Early in the morning, Crane walked straight into the huge Lee Cooperate. He wanted to confirm what sh*t had happened.
He sighed watching Sebastian elegantly walk out of his vehicle and heading straight towards the private elevator.
"Did you see a ghost or something?" Sebastian asked looking at Crane, the back of his lips curved.
"Uh, it's nothing. I just came to check on things here." Crane said walking right after Sebastian.
"Let's check the CCTV footage together." Crane offered and Seb smiled.
"Right after you," He said gesturing him to lead the way but the results were clean. Everything was negative.
"Power beyond power, and now I'll have to agree that you partially won and partially lost." Sebastian winked but Crane frowned.
"Struggling to prove my innocence is something I can't do son, however, I'd advise you to be very careful."
"Why are you saying that though, it's not like anything happened to me," Seb said rolling his eyes.
"This is X City and don't behave like a visitor because we all know the Lees rule the city. Here, take a look at this." He said showing Seb a video clip of him in the hospital. "Three minutes are enough for me to dig information about your entire family son, so trade carefully with me." He warned.
'How the heck is that possible, my records were undercover.'
"I blew your cover son, and for that at least we could say your partner in crime lost his or her job. Even if he or she graduates then there's no guarantee that she secures a job within this country." Crane smirked.
"Holy crap! Goodness, heavens! She didn't do anything and I blackmailed her." Seb lied.
Crane looked at his buzzing phone and clicked on the receive button.
"Won't you guys come to receive me?" He froze in place at Anderson's voice. Never had they struck such deals during the day so what happened that he finally showed up in broad daylight?
