Bab 266: Preparing for the Auction

For a few days, things settled into a steady if unusual routine for Wu Ling and his companions. 

Yu Jinqi spent long hours working as a medicine boy for Master Alchemist Duzhen. While the young Alchemy Novice had initially looked down on the Alchemists of the Alchemy Consortium, the more time he spent under Master Duzhen's watchful eyes, the more he was forced to revise his opinions. 

"It isn't so much that the concoctions are complex," he explained to Jin Wuya as he applied a medicinal paste to her split knuckles one evening after she and the other Brawlers had returned from a day fighting in The Pit. "It's that each ingredient has to be handled with meticulous care. If I so much as breathe too deeply, I risk inhaling toxins and a sneeze can spread poison dust all over the lab."
