With operatic flair, she began to sing, her voice soaring and dipping with precision. As she progressed, she started to become immersed in her singing. It was as though she went back to a time when she was free and happy.

She kept singing, all the melodies suppressed within her for years bursting forth, but on a high note, she faltered, her voice cracking. Matteo, who was watching with rapt attention, winced, and Rosalie caught it. Her eyes darted around, and she wished the ground would just swallow her.
