As Jessica's cab pulled up to the Williams' residence, her heart pounded in her chest as she glanced at the imposing mansion.
It was past 8 PM, and the house loomed in the darkness, only partially illuminated by the outdoor lights.
Taking a deep breath, she paid the driver and opened the door. Stepping out she felt the cool evening air on her skin.
Before she could retrieve her luggage from the trunk, a man approached her with a polite smile. "Good evening, ma'am. Jessica Monroe, right?" He asked, and she nodded.
"Yes. I'm so sorry for my tardiness," Jessica apologized as she took the luggage out of the trunk, and stepped away from the cab so the driver could leave.
"It's okay since you're here now. Let me help you with that," he said, his expression kind as he reached for her suitcase.
Jessica, assuming he was her new employer, shook her head firmly. "Oh, no, thank you, sir. I can manage on my own," she said pulling her luggage along.
