Bab 33: A Threat?

Instead of going back to her office immediately, Delilah decided to return her father's call since she was alone.

She dialed his line and on the fourth ring, the call connected, and his familiar voice filled her ears, causing her heart to ache.

"Lila?" He asked uncertainly.

Only he called her Lila- well that was until Blake showed up and stubbornly chose to call her that. While her mom and Jessica had referred to her as D, he had called her Princess Lila.

How she had loved it. How special he had made her feel. He had been the perfect husband and father in her eyes, and she had thought he could do no wrong. That was until he proved her wrong.

"What do you want?" She asked, her voice harsh with the sting of disappointment.

She heard him inhale deeply, the way he did when he had a lot on his mind but didn't want to say anything, "How have you been? How is Jessica?" He asked, sounding concerned.
