In fact, having Dean deliver the Seventh-turn Extermination Task Scroll to Carl was just an impulsive move on his part.

If he wanted to give that scroll to Carl, he had numerous ways to do it.

Jokingly, to carefully plot against Carl was a lack of respect for his own intelligence!

He specifically chose Dean to deliver it, because Dean had inconveniently finished the Trial in Hell Mode.

Although Dean's Hell Mode Trial was not incredible enough to trigger the unforgivable crime of magnificence, the fact he used the Promotion Temple of the Giant Bear Tribe to achieve such a breakthrough made Yorick uncomfortable.

Yorick couldn't bear this discomfort, hence, he retaliated immediately.

He chose a method of retaliating that would make Dean uncomfortable.
