Bab 250: Forgone Conclusion

"You're dead!" Romellus growled, charging forward again. His lance glowed with a mix of green and red energy, spiraling with chaotic power. The ground beneath him shattered with each step, leaving cracks as the shockwaves from his aura expanded.

*BOOM!*

Romellus thrust his lance with blinding speed, but just as the tip approached, Aleron vanished again, reappearing casually above him. Without even facing Romellus, Aleron spoke in a bored tone.

"Too slow again."

Romellus's lance struck the ground where Aleron had been, sending a shockwave that tore through the arena floor, but it was futile. The audience gasped in disbelief as Aleron floated above, completely unfazed, hands still in his pockets, a smile playing at the edge of his lips.

Romellus clenched his teeth, veins bulging on his forehead. His pride, built from years of being the strongest in the city, was cracking with each failed attempt.
