After the first human fell from grace, she was cast out of the paradise known as Eden. Eden was located in the cradle of life, the heart of Africa. As the first and only woman on the planet, she was doomed to roam the desolate world for centuries on her own. That is until the first angel fell from Heaven, cracking open the earth, creating the first gate to hell. Hell was an ancient prison that was sealed by God to hold the demons of the void.
Witnessing the angel's fall to earth, the first woman walked for thirteen days and thirteen nights before she arrived at the site of the crash. There she met the first son of God, the Morningstar, Angel of Sin, the Left Hand of God, Samael --now known as Lucifer.
The moment she laid her eyes on his angelic brilliance, she was lost to his wiles. Lucifer asked for her name, and like a sweet song, she sang, Lilith. It was like a magnetic pull between them. Not even God could keep them apart. Likewise, from that night on, God felt the control of the world slowly slip from his grasps.
Many people believed that Lilith became the mother of demons that night ushering a great evil that even god had to be wary of combating. Though it was true, it was widely misinterpreted. Demons had already existed in hell, but what Lucifer and Lilith created that night was something special.
Time went on, and Lilith raised her child to be the first Prince of Hell. Though it just wasn't meant to be. Her son craved the Blood that ran through her veins. His eyes were blood red, and his skin was more challenging than diamonds, like divine steel. He was as fast and as strong as the demons of hell, but he retained his mother's form without his father's wings.
For years, Lucifer tried to control his son until he couldn't anymore. To protect the woman he loved and get revenge on his father, Lucifer cast out his first son, Ashura. Ashura went mad with blood lust and ravaged the world now full of humans. It was the first and only time that God walked on earth to personally destroy a soul. But to do so, part of his power was relinquished control of the water to guarantee the swift and absolute death of his enemy.
Unfortunately, the drawbacks of his actions began to bear fruits almost instantly. It was around 10,000 BC when Ashura sacked the Kingdom of Balobedu. During the sacking of Balobedu, Ashura fed on a noble family. During his reprieve, the family was hanging on to life by a thread. Usually, Ashura would get the energy to finish them off by drinking whatever bit of Blood remained in their veins. However, the noble family became the first people to ever survive Ashura due to divine intervention.
After God utterly annihilated Ashura, the noble family that clung to life began to heal and regain their energy after bouts of excruciating pain. When they finally came to, they were stronger, faster; their senses were heightened. Because they wielded powers and had abilities during their human life, their new lives as the first vampires amplified those powers.
The matriarch of the family and former Queen of Balobedu, Ayesha, took her family far away from Balodedu and left her estate in a branch family's care. Ayesha and her few vampiric kin soon became a distant memory. But their hunger was ever known by all. Like Ashura, they craved Blood. Though, unlike Ashura, they learned to control their hunger. Ayesha being a sorceress as a human, experimented with her new abilities.
She soon discovered her fangs secreted a venom that turned other humans into vampires, though they were weaker than her family. The people she turned into vampires rarely displayed abilities, they sparkled in the sunlight. Even though they drank blood, their skin was pale and cold to the touch while Ayesha and her family appeared human and warm. Not just warm, equivalent to a furnace.
Their eyes were always blood red, while Ayesha and her Kin had their original ocean blue eyes, though they did turn red during feedings.
Over the years, the lesser vampires grew in number and formed covens. The largest and most prominent coven was the Egyptian Coven. They believed themselves to be Gods, and the humans worshiped them as such. They sought to conquer all, even the land at the mouth of the Nile River that was owned by Ayesha. The lesser vampires referred to her Coven as the Elder Folk or Blood Lords.
When Ayesha refused to join the Egyptian Coven and give up her land, the war began. During this time, the Blood Lords massacred their slaves and any vampire that encroached upon their land. They appeared to be indomitable until God sent a messenger to deliver a sword to the Egyptian Coven's leader. This sword was made to kill the Blood Lords. Because they were near indestructible, God decided to even the playing field and cull his mistake.
The sword would later become a legend, known as the Sword of the Blood God. The war lasted one hundred years. When the leader of the Egyptian Coven stabbed the God-sent sword through Ayesha's gut. She grabbed onto his arm as her son, Obediah, beheaded the man with a lightning coated knife-hand.
The man lost his head as the sound of shattering stone echoed through the room. It hit the floor like a boulder and not a drop of blood spilled from the rolling head.
When the Egyptian leader's body hit the floor like a porcelain sculpture. Obediah fell to his knees in front of his mother with tears of blood wetting his cheeks.
"You must go. Take the sword and go. You must hide it, ensure that it is never found. Or it will be your undoing." Ayesha spoke with a calm tone and a peaceful mind.
She caressed her son's face one last time before she said, "I am so proud of you, Obediah. You are my joy. I have taught you all that I know. You are the last of our family, which means you are free. Free to explore the world as you have always wanted to. Free to love and hate who you want. Go, my child, I permit you to do as you please."
Ayesha's voice faded, her body then combusted into flames like her kin that died before her. Obediah took the sword from his mother's body and set fire to the lesser vampires that died during the battle.
Sheathing the sword and strapping it to his back, Obediah set out on a world journey that will last countless lifetimes.
--------------------------------------
600 AD. Alexandria, Roman Empire -Egypt
Obediah sat at his desk, reading about the latest scientific discoveries in the world. Many of them were based on magic that the newly emerged scientists did not wield. Some of the science was all theoretical, while some of it was real and intriguing, like the windmill in the village of Nish Toofan.
As Obediah read the Alexandrian library's latest records, a fair-haired woman with pale skin and crimson eyes stared at him from the bed.
"Why are you so different, Obediah?" She asked in an Italian accent.
"You know the reason, Athenodora. You are just too much of a coward to verify it." Obediah replied without turning around.
The fair-haired vampire vanished from the bed. Her naked body soon appeared on Obediah's lap as she straddled him. Athenodora was a beauty. Obediah had met her in Romania when he was hunting for a rising coven that sought to destroy the Egyptian Coven. While Obediah was tailing them, Athenodora happened to be hunting one night and mistook him for a human.
She 'seduced' him, and the two had a moonlight tryst. Athenodora tried many times to turn the tables and finally feed. Still, every time Athenodora tried, Obediah would reveal a new level of strength and fucked her with more fervor --driving her to the next mind-blowing orgasm.
After a while, Athenodora gave in, and the two made love under the moon like sex demons at a bacchanalia. When Athenodora was too tired and tender to continue, Obediah just held her as she questioned his existence.
Then for the first time in centuries, Athenodora fell asleep. When she awoke, Obediah was gone. And so began the game of cat and mouse.
Athenodora held on to Obediah's shoulders, gazing into her lover's eyes.
"My husband says I smell more of death and blood than any vampire he has ever met. Why would a human make me smell like that?" She asked.
Obediah chuckled as he shook his head. "Because I am not human," he said.
"You fuck me better than any man I've ever lain with. Even my husband. So good that it puts me to sleep. Me. A vampire. How is that possible?"
"Because I am more than a vampire, you poor lesser creature," he replied.
Athenodora smiled, and she felt her cold pink folds moisten. "Lesser creature? I like that. It makes me feel like a whore you bought from the market." she cooed.
"I fuck you like so, so why not? We can even pick out a collar for you later. Maybe even a leash. I can walk you through Alexandria naked and on all fours. Even parade you in front of your husband. What can he do?"
Athenodora could feel herself dripping as she wore an exhilarated smile.
"Nothing!" she replied.
"And why not?" he asked.
"Because… because you are… You are a B-Blood Lord…" The acknowledgment of his existence was almost orgasmic for her. A tsunami of euphoria crashed into her as she remembered the stories of higher vampires that lived long before her time.
"See, you knew what I was all along. Why deny it?" asked Obediah, with a devilish smirk.
"Because, if you're a Blood Lord, that would make you Obediah the Heretic," she whispered.
"I've never heard that one before. Was that created before or after my supposed death?"
"After I think. They say you were the only male Blood Lord. Your mother was Queen Ayesha of Balobedu. Stories say that you were all born in the time of Atlantis. They say that Ayesha created our race and experimented on us. But you did much worse. So much so that your mother confined you to her lands, never to leave."
Obediah was reasonably impressed. He thought he would have been forgotten by now. "2505 BC. That is when my family fell. So long ago, and yet you brand my tale into your mind. Why?"
"Without your family, there would be no vampires. You kept us as slaves, but every night was a night of euphoria for your women. You even fucked your sisters and cousins. You stole daughters and wives and held orgies in their men's blood. You razed villages to test your power and experimented on humans for reasons unknown. You fed on babies and dyed the Nile River red with blood…
When I first heard of your horrors, I used to envy your younger sister, Kidagakash. By the gods, I envied your slaves. You are the primal predatory instinct and carnal love in all of us vampires. Everything this daughter has, she owes to you, her father." Athenodora's voice drifted off as she caressed Obediah's muscular body and admired his deep ocean blue eyes.
"Everything I have done, you can do," said Obediah.
"My husband and the rest of the Volturi do not understand me. But you do. You know what lives inside this cold shell, a fire, with the burning intensity of the sun—a fire, ready to scorch the world. And every time you wet my core with your seed, I can feel it burning brighter. Put a collar on me, chains, shackles, a leash, and a gag. I do not care. Just take me with you. Do not leave me this time." Athenodora's voice cracked as tears of blood trickled down her cheek.
Athenodora was ensnared in awe of her Lord. She craved the freedom to unleash what her husband and his coven mates have been forcefully suppressing within her.
Obediah smiled and chuckled to himself, much to Athenodora's confusion.
"Why--Why are you laughing?" she asked nervously.
"I am laughing at you, you poor lesser but beautiful creature," he replied.
Athenodora felt her heart tremble. Obediah brushed her long fair hair from her face and planted a gentle kiss on her soft pink lips. " What makes you more special than Didyme or Sulpicia? You just happened to taste my cock first. But like you, they said similar words a few nights ago. You three are the best playmates I have had in a long time. But I'm here to change the dynamics of the vampire world." he said.
Athenodora put on a weak half-smile and asked, "You've met Didyme and Sulpicia?"
"Yes, Didyme is special. I have to admit. She is genuinely enamored with Marcus. Once, she arranged a meeting between Aro and myself. I wiped her memory clean of our escapades. Without my cock overshadowing her lover's, she will be happy. Sulpicia, on the other hand. Her body gets overwhelmingly excited when I plow her in front of Aro. I mean, it's unbelievable to find such natural whores. And I didn't even have to train you…
I thought Aro was like me. But with a bit of pressure, he watched as I pumped my seed into his wife. Her ass, her cold cunt, wet mouth, and all over her body. There was no end to her debauchery, and now he can attack the Egyptian Coven I have been protecting. He gave up what was his to gain more. He is a sad lesser creature...
But you, when I hear you speak. I listen to words spoken with unfiltered passion, Didyme sells her brother to the devil for the love of another, Aro sells his wife to the devil for power. Sulpicia gives up everything for pleasure. But you are foolish enough to love me…"
Athenodora crimson tears dripped from her face and painted her naked breast. Obediah smiled and wiped away her tears. Athenodora hesitantly met his gaze, and he kissed her again.
"Loving me is what makes you more special than any woman I have ever met, my poor lesser, but beautiful, loving creature. Of course, I will not leave you. And I will not chain you. With your freedom, you chose to love me, and with your freedom, I know you will stay with me until time erodes."
Athenodora's smile beamed, and she began to sparkle like a diamond sculpture as the rays of the morning sun penetrated the slightly ajar window shutters. Obediah lifted her by her plump and juicy arse, then lowered her gently onto his cock, stretching the tight cunt of his forever 18-year-old lover.
Athenodora raised and lowered her hips with a controlled and passion-induced twirl of her hips. She cried tears of happiness as the raging heat of Obediah's rod made her feel human again. Amid their trysts, the warmth of spring was upon her—a nirvanic reprieve from her ever cold life.
----------------------------------
601 AD -Fall of the Egyptian Coven
"Why did you protect a coven that slaughtered your family?" Aro asked Obediah.
"Because when my family died, I was set free. I had killed their leader and those who attacked that day. The debt was settled. And as direct sires of my family, I choose to let them live. " He replied
Aro nodded as he understood. Obediah and the Volturi Coven were now riding horses through the streets of Roman-occupied Egypt.
"Why do we ride horses? We are vampires…" Caius hissed.
"You are a vampire. I am a Blood Lord. We are not equals. I was born in an age where people traveled across the sky, land, and oceans faster than the speed of sound. I know what it feels like to be fast. I have lived thousands of years and will live thousands more. I do not need to run with super speed. I will allow my horse to trot as I enjoy the warmth of an Egyptian sun." Said Obediah.
The Volturi glanced at Caius. Caius ground his teeth in rage. He wanted to kill Obediah for stealing his wife. Caius' eyes then fell on to the smiling face of Athenodora. Caius hated the way she rode close to him and fawned over his every act.
The group arrived at a huge building, built long before the Ptolemaic empire when Pharaohs were still Egyptians. Obediah dismounted his horse, then helped Athenodora off of hers. The two then walked hand and hand to the great doors of the Egyptian Coven. As Aro waited for an answer to his knock, Obediah sent a light palm strike at the doors and blew them apart.
"Aro, diplomacy is over. This is a hostile takeover." Said Obediah.
Obediah looked at the entourage dressed in black robes, each of them gathered by Aro to witness the destruction of a force at the hands of the Volturi. Obediah then eyed Aro.
"We are here to witness. So give us a show," Obediah ordered.
Aro nodded, then led his people inside to lay waste to the Egyptian Coven. Obediah and Athenodora watched as vampires were ripped apart, and war raged even after sunset.
The next morning, Aro and his Coven fought until the Egyptian Coven submitted and surrendered their coffers.
Athenodora squeezed Obediah's arm. Her lips touched his ear as she spoke, "Legend tells of a weapon, my Lord. W--"
Obediah sealed her lips with a ravenous kiss. " I am no fool." was all he said to her after breaking the kiss.
Obediah had purged all information regarding the Sword of the Blood God and any family history that he deemed sensitive to his existence.
"Would you like to travel north with me?" Obediah asked Athenodora.
"Do you not wish to stay with the Volturi?" She asked.
"Not at the moment. But I do wish to travel north with you. We can build a coven of our own and rule our own people and lands. A place that worships war and sex. There we can be Gods amongst people who seek a violent death," Obediah explained.
Athenodora looked at her 'husband,' Caius, and then she looked at the patiently waiting Obediah. "Will you marry me?" she asked.
Obediah chuckled. "I plan to make you, my everything, Athenodora."
"Then we should go north, together," she said.
Obediah took Athenodora by the waist and pulled her near. He then nodded towards Aro and Marcus. He gave one look at the fuming Caius and said, "She has chosen me. You can pursue us and try to fight, but I will kill you. So I advise you to turn that anger on something useful, boy."
Obediah and Athenodora then vanished in a gust of wind.
Through the lands of the Holy Roman Empire and across the North Sea, Athenodora and Obediah traveled to the high northern regions of Scandinavia.
Athenodora enjoyed her travels. She learned many things and acquired a handful of slaves of different shades and backgrounds. She learned to use the spear and tempered herself by suppressing her speed and strength as Obediah instructed her to. When they arrived on the shores of Norway, they set fire to the boat and traveled across the land. It was a challenging journey with many Norse men looking to conquer Athenodora and her enslaved beauties and at times take their wealth.
Naturally, every enemy was slain. Obediah and Athenodora became known as Gods on Midgar. Obediah was praised as Odin. His prowess in war and magic struck awe into the hearts of the people. They did not fear blood but welcomed it. Athenodora was praised as Frigg.
In a land where war was praised, violent death was coveted, and blood sacrifice a part of the primary religion and day-to-day life, Athenodora and Obediah had walked the lands of paradise. As a bonus, the ground was damp, cold, and the sky; always cloudy.
Traveling across Norway, Athenodora and Obediah settled in Uppsala, Svealand. The religious center of the Scandinavian region. When Athenodora asked him why. Obediah replied, " My sister saw the future, and the future starts here…"
----------------------------------
In the 790's AD, Athenodora and Obediah led the Viking raids. They slaughtered the masses and converted Christians for pleasure. The Northmen worshipped them and created the bloodiest centuries until 1095 AD.
Obediah and Athenodora now had a coven of seven vampires, all talented and nurtured before their turn. Gyda Ragnarsdottir, Elsewith of Northumbria, Thyri Haraldsonsdottir, Thorunn, Floki Vilgerðarson, Tyr of Uppsala migrated south and participated in the First Crusade.
In 1474, Obediah befriended the Medici of Florence. There he met a bright man and friend, Leonardo Da Vinci. Obediah turned Leonardo into a vampire on his 24th birthday. As a member of Obediah's Uppsala coven, Da Vicini created and discovered great things.
Then the Ottoman wars started. In Vampiric History, it was known as the Blood Wars. The first wars that ever affected the entire supernatural community of the known world. What started it all was the hunt for the Book of Leaves, and a battle against the Sons of Mithras and the ambitious Volturi.
Unfortunately, the Volturi got their hands on the Book of Leaves --transcribed by the elders of an ancient civilization in Crete, nine thousand years before Christ, in a place that later became the lost city of Atlantis.
During those years, the Volturi recreated an ancient coffin created by Obediah's ancestors, who predated Atlantis, to capture and seal away his progenitor, Ashura.
Back then, it was not powerful enough to capture Ashura and in the end, Obediah's family was transformed into Blood Lords and Balobedu was ravaged. But Obediah was no Ashura. In 1518, Obediah was ambushed in Rome by an alliance of Romulus Werewolves and the Volturi.
The war was so bloody at this point that Obediah ordered his coven to return to Uppsala. With the exception of Vladimir and Justinia Dracul, Athenadora, Leonardo Da Vinci, and 100 newborn vampires, all others were gone.
After the traitors managed to end the newborns, Obediah killed a suicide wolf who had the ancient contraption placed in its body. The moment Obediah killed what he believed was a young hot-blooded wolf, the contraption burst forth and latched onto Obediah's body. It sealed him.
On that day, Leonardo was the only one to be taken captive by the Volturi due to his connection to the Book of Leaves. Vladimir Dracul was the only one to escape. Athenodora, Justinia, and the newborns died that year.
Obediah now slept in the darkness beneath the Volturi. Though Vladimir and Leonardo will never allow this debt to go unpaid.
January 01, 2005 AD - Leonardo Da Vinci's POV
It's been centuries since I was taken by the Voturi. My father was sealed away in an ancient crypt, forgotten by the race he and his family sired. The Volturi now rule Vampirekin, unopposed.
Though, I can't say my time here has been all bad. I was able to see my life recorded in the history books as a man to be revered. My art and inventions were preserved.
I was also able to meet a few friends during my time in the Volturi. With friendships and the passage of time, I was given the freedom to roam. A decade ago, I reconnected with my brother Vladimir Dracul, the Voivode of Wallachia, or at least he used to be. I told him everything I knew about the Volturi and, most importantly, that Marcus was tasked with guarding our father for the next two years. It was a common rotation as Aro, Caius, and Marcus feared my father. But this time, Marcus is weakened by time, his mind grows dull, and life is no longer what he wants.
So now, we wait for the change of shift. And tonight, we will take the first step on the road of revenge.
---------------------------------------------
The change of shift came quickly, Caius was welcomed back to the fold, and the Volturi feasted all night, becoming drunk on blood.
Leonardo took this opportunity to retrieve the Book of Leaves and let Vlad into the back door with the coven he had built precisely for this day.
Vladimir and Leonardo embraced each other for a brief moment.
"Vlad, we must do this now. Your coven must attack. We can take Marcus, together. There is a boat waiting beneath the palace for us when it's over." Leonardo explained.
Vlad nodded and I pulled him along. The Volturi was then under siege in a matter of moments. During the chaos, we brothers entered the catacombs and came face to face with Marcus.
"Hmm, after so many years, I thought you had forsaken him," Marcus spoke with a weary voice. "You even managed to fool my abilities."
"He is our father!" Vlad barked.
"Yes, he is all of our father. Without him, the Volturi would not be what it is today. I beg you, Leonardo, do not do this. I do not wish to kill you!" Marcus bore his fangs.
Vlad clutched my arm. He spoke firmly with no room for discussion. "Leo, go to him. Marcus and I have some things to work out!"
I nodded and went into the catacombs. I gasped the moment I saw my father wrapped in metal with skin like a weathered stone after centuries of starvation. A fire swelled within me. I then stifled my rage and moved quickly before Aro, Caius, and the two deadly siblings that they adopted appeared.
I picked the coffin up, and instead of running to the door, I ran further into the crypt. I then used the indestructible coffin as a hammer to break through the floor.
Outside of the crypts, Vlad and Marcus engaged in a battle of life and death. Blow for blow, they beat each other. Marcus was forced to toss aside his robes, a considerable achievement against the Volturi's leading tribunal.
"I see you remember now how strong Obediah's children are. For a moment, I thought old age had gotten to you," Vlad cackled. "You murdered Justinia, Marcus. I will have your life!"
Marcus spit then cracked his neck. "Come then, boy. Let's test this old age you speak of."
Marcus vanished from his spot, and Vlad's eyes widened.
Bam!
Vlad blocked a strike that created shockwaves. The battle resumed, and it was apparent that Marcus' mind wasn't as weak as I had sold it to be.
Vlad cursed me in his mind, but cursing wasn't enough. Vlad redoubled his effort then phased like a phantom. Once he displayed his power, Vlad quickly turned the tables.
However, he was suddenly hit with crippling pain. Vlad struggled to look up. When he did, he saw a young blonde-haired girl with blood-red eyes.
I had not told him about such a monstrous girl. The next moment a black fog encapsulated his being. His torture continued until he felt his arms ripped off, and his head torn from his shoulders.
Beneath the Volturi, I had already boarded the boat on the forgotten waterway. Using my telekinetic power, I sailed the boat down the canal and out to the ocean by the time Vladimir had been sacrificed.

January 11th, 2005 AD -Third POV
"Where are we, Leonardo?" Obediah asked in an exhausted raspy voice.
"The shores of Washington, I have a friend who will hide us for now, "Leonardo replied as he helped Obediah off the cargo ship.
Obediah was weak from the lack of blood. Leonardo wanted him to feed on the ship's crew, but Obediah didn't want to leave a single clue for the Volturi to track. Even in his starved state, he was in absolute control and capable of calculations towards survival.
"You will tell me everything about this place and this friend of yours." Obediah coughed. "Those blood bags were not enough. We must get to our destination."
After a few days of travel, Obediah and Leonardo arrived in Forks, Washington. Along the way, Leonardo's speed was broken when he steps onto the road a millisecond too late and collides with a car belonging to the local police department.
The tires of the police car screech, and smoke fills the damp forest air. When the occupants of the car rush out to check for damage and a hurt animal, they only find Obediah on the road.
Behind the treeline, Leonardo watches as his father is taken away by a man and a young woman with great haste.
'Forgive me, father. Carlisle is a doctor. This has to be fate.' Leonardo thought to himself as he followed the police car to the local hospital.
In the car, Obeidah rested in the back seat, his young features obscured due to his long disheveled hair and overgrown facial hair.
Obediah looked at the man driving at high speeds. Obediah didn't hesitate to dive into his mind.
'Charlie Swan. Forks, Washington's Police Chief. Age: 52. Divorced. One daughter, Isabella Swan, age 17. Ahh? The Cullens, these must be the vampires that Leo is looking for.'
Obediah then shifted his attention to Isabella Swan. He was surprised to feel his mind was locked out. He then examined her body. 'Innate Magic, she must be a shield. Oh, what a prize.' Obediah thought.
He then reached out his hand and grasped her shoulder. Isabella was startled, causing her to jerk a bit.
"Do not be afraid, child. I am just saying, thank you. I also wish to tell you how special you are. One in ten million, to be exact. What is your name?"
Isabella looked at her father. Charlie simply nodded.
"Bella, Bella Swan."
"Pretty, and this your father, I assume?" Obediah asked
"Yes. And sorry about hitting you with the car."
Obediah weakly chuckled. " Do not fret. After I get checked out by the local doctor, you can help by giving me a change of clothes and a place to wash and groom."
The father-daughter duo readily agreed. They didn't want to be rude, but Obediah did smell, and his clothing was very odd, as Obediah hadn't changed since the renaissance.
"I am Obediah Sanguine. Thank you for taking care of me. And no one has to know I was hit by your automobile."
"So, what were you doing out here, Obediah?" Charlie asked as he looked in the rearview mirror.
Obediah recalled all of Charlie's memories. "My father and I are meeting some family friends here in Forks. We've stayed off the grid for a while after my mom left us. I just wanted to get back to the woods and wound up getting lost."
Charlie began to ask Obediah a series of questions that Obediah answered honestly for the most part.
Obediah had told Charlie that he was acquainted with the Cullens and merely seventeen years old, planning to stay with them as he attends high school at Forks High School.
When they finally arrived at the hospital, Charlie left to find Dr.Cullen to clear up Obediah's identity.
Bella waited near the hospital bed with Obediah until Charlie returned. Obediah stared at the shield and attempted various ways to infiltrate her mind but found none.
"What are you doing?" Bella asked.
Obediah smiled. He thought the girl had finally had enough pretending and was ready to reveal herself.
"What do you mean?" Obediah asked.
"You're just staring at me," she replied.
Obediah was disappointed. It wasn't the answer he wanted.
" Oh, Bella Swan, I have come to the conclusion that you are a very dull person. That must be why you chose to move to this morbid place instead of traveling with your mother."
Bella's eyes widened in shock. The moment she was about to ask Obediah how he knew such things, Dr. Carlisle Cullen pulled aside the curtain that separated them from the other patients in the room.
The moment Obediah saw the handsome man with blue eyes, blonde hair, pale skin, and absent a heartbeat. He verified Carlisle's identity.
Carlisle could also tell that Obediah was a vampire only because he didn't hear a heartbeat. Carlisle examined Obediah with awe.
He felt the raging heat of Obediah's skin, natural ocean blue eyes, and soft mocha brown skin. The white hair that covered his head and face wouldn't have been needed for identification. Carlisle stepped back and almost felt the need to bow.
"Chief, please give the patient and me a moment alone."
Charlie nodded and pulled the still shocked Bella away. When the curtains closed, Carlisle fell to his knees, " L-Lord Obediah..."
"Save it. I am merely here because my son trusts you. But I do not. He told me that you met in Volterra. Those traitorous bastards are your masters." Obediah sneered.
"No, Lord... Leonardo and I concocted the plan to set you free long ago. We--"
"The plan to sacrifice Vladimir!?" Obediah nearly flew into a rage.
If Carlisle could breathe, he would have sucked away all the air in the room due to fright.
Obediah continued, "We require a place to stay and identities. For now, we will share your home. In one month, I expect you and Leo could find a suitable homestead for my greatness, big enough for my future coven and accommodations, of course."
"It will not be that simple."
"Make it so!" Obediah growled
"There are wolves here, Lord." Carlisle protested.
"Enough of this drivel. I will be leaving with the Swans." Obediah stood then left Carlisle alone to contemplate the future.
After Obediah showered, shaved, and changed his clothes. Bella and Charlie were shocked by the young man's appearance. Obediah hadn't aged a day past 19 years old. He and Bella looked similar in age, but it was obvious that his appearance was better than hers. However, no one expected Obediah to appear so young beneath the facial hair, though he had already told them his 'age'.
The Swans treated Obediah to a meal in the local cafe. Human food couldn't satiate him, but it also didn't harm him as it did regular vampires. He was then dropped off at the Cullens' house. Bella watched as the boy who caused a hurricane of feelings in her left her so quickly. She wondered who he was, how he knew things about her. It was terrifying and exhilarating at the same time.
As Obediah entered the Cullens' house, he was first met with the sight of Carlisle and Leonardo. He hadn't regained his strength, but Obediah was furious. He vanished from his place and reappeared when his fist connected with Carlisle's jaw, nearly shattering it as cracks form on his face. Obediah then backhanded Leo with equal ferocity.
The Cullen family witnessed Obediah's terrifying speed and strength. They had been told not to do anything, so they clenched their fist as they watched the head of their coven and his friend being abused.
When Obediah was bored, he took a seat on the couch and brushed his disheveled hair back. He had adopted the Viking's style by shaving the sides of his hair and styling the top in twists and braids that fell to his shoulder blades.
"That was for my son, that you two felt the need to sacrifice. He was more vampire than both of you combined. He slaughtered legions of Ottomans. A vampire that was closer to that of a Blood Lord. You should be ashamed, Leonardo."
"Father, I had to get you out of there!" Leonardo shouted. "And it was my idea to sacrifice Vlad. Carlisle didn't even know we were coming here. We haven't spoken in over a decade."
"I am immortal! You could have waited! What's another century? You could have collected weapons, but instead, you sacrificed your brother and his kin…" Obediah sighs, "That's enough on that matter. Vladimir is gone. We are not."
"What will we do?" Leonardo asked.
"Nothing. I am rusty from the long sleep, the Volturi may have another contraption that can seal me, and I no longer have a coven. I will rebuild it. Here. Far away from them. Carlisle, your debt is forgiven. You could have run with your coven, but you stayed to face your punishment. "
Obediah sniffed the air and found Carlisle's scent wrapped around a brown-haired woman. "You," Obediah descended into her mind, "Esme, take your husband to feed,"
Esmee moved and carried Carlisle away.
Their children tried to follow but were stopped by Carlisle. Obediah was peering into each of their minds, viewing the memories they didn't even know they had.
Obediah looked at Rosalie Hale, Carlisle's daughter, with sympathetic eyes. "My wife didn't like the constant cold either," Obediah spoke softly as he appeared in front of her then gave her a tight hug that warmed her body for a brief moment. Rosalie sighed, and a blood tear graced her cheek.
Obediah let her go, then looked at Alice Cullen. "You have my sister's power. Forks, Washington is an odd place indeed. So many treasures."
Finally, he looked at Jasper Hale. "You will tell me about this Forks High School. Everyone else will leave the house and join Carlisle."
Everyone wasted no time. The moment they left, Jasper felt the weight of the world lifted from his shoulders. Jasper is an empath of sorts, continually feeling the emotions and hunger of the people around him. Obediah could see the pain on his face.
"My oldest sister was an empath. Please sit and enjoy the quiet. We will talk when you are ready." Obediah then closed his eyes and laid back on the couch.
'Carlisle's coven is very interesting…
Esme Cullen, Carlisle's wife, after losing her baby to lung fever, Esme attempted suicide, but her attempt was unsuccessful. Later, Carlisle transformed her into a vampire on her deathbed. Sometime later, the pair fell in love and married, starting to build a family of like-minded vegetarian vampires around them. Esme possesses a remarkable capacity for a passionate love for those around her, which allowed her adoptive family members to consider her as the most significant maternal figure in their lives. She is the matriarch…
Rosalie Hale. In 1933, Rosalie was turned into a vampire by Carlisle Cullen after being raped and beaten to the brink of death by a group of drunken men, including her fiancé. She pretends to be Jasper's twin and is married to Emmett Cullen, who was turned after being saved by Rosalie.
Now Alice Cullen is a treat. Sweet and caring nature. Subjective precognition is her ability. An ability that drove her to be institutionalized before she was turned. She is married to Jasper, the pathokenetic and soldier.
Finally, there's Edward Cullen. After nearly dying from Spanish influenza in 1918 in Chicago, Edward was turned into a vampire by Carlisle, as the only alternative to death. His gift is Telepathy while being above the average vampire in terms of speed.'
Obediah was pulled from his thoughts when Jasper told him that he was ready.
Jasper spoke about Forks High school, and the many times he graduated. He then spoke about Forks as a whole and the contract between the wolves and the Cullens. Most importantly, the rules against killing, turning, and feeding on humans was explained.
When the conversation was finished, Obediah committed a massacre of animals in the woods. He made up for centuries without blood, creating a small pool of blood at the foot of an oak tree with above-ground roots that had a natural depression in the earth, Perfect for the impromptu blood pool. Surrounding the pool were multiple corpses of the forest's most vicious animals -- Mountain Lions, Black Bears, Bobcats, and Cascade Red Foxes.
As he bathed in the blood, he heard a small click and an exhilarated exhale. Obediah opened his eyes and looked to the source of the clicking sounds. This time, the person had snapped a shot of Obediah and his ocean blue eyes that ripped through the night and startled the poor photographer.
Obediah chuckled as she scurried away, but he had her scent and it was the sweetest scent he had ever come across in his thousands of years...
