"Even if you're the only one living a decent and respectable life, that means goodness still exists."
It didn't matter how many stars there were on the sky. Even one can brighten a person's entire life.
This was what 'Love' had taught him.
Even in the infinite darkness of his resentments and regret, those memories were stars in his heart.
Irreplaceable, even if they weren't here right now.

Adam suddenly felt embarrassed by how cheesy everything started to feel. Especially the name of it.
Did he sound too delusional?
Regardless, there was nothing wrong with living for the sake of living. Instead of efficiently surviving.
Maybe leaving her to die would make it less awkward for him to talk to his father, but sometimes a man had to stick his neck out and be responsible. Do the things needed to be done.
Since no one else was helping, he'd do it himself.
Adam looked at the tattered clothes of the little girl along with those damaged eyes. What to do now?
Since those eyes would become infected at this rate, he took her out of this corpse-filled area.
Goblins decomposed faster than others.
No… It wasn't just 'fast'. The cave was slowly being filled with the rotting stench of the dead already.
He carefully picked her up.
"Stay still for a second." Adam spoke as gently as possible. Trying to not trigger her fear towards him.
She might not have feared her saviour, but panic was something that couldn't be suppressed easily.
Her arms were trembling…
Perhaps she too couldn't believe there would truly be a stranger that would save her in this moment.
There was a need to show her everything was real.
That this kind of compassion could truly exist.
The boy brought her out and headed towards a nearby stream just outside his Clan's territory.
Adam looked at the large pond that was connected to a stream. He'd learnt of this place not long ago.
Even though it was a natural reserve of water that could be useful to many, it wasn't approached much. The reason being that anything with a brain avoided even the borders of his Clan's territory.
His Clan members rarely left their territory, and those outside his family avoided their borders.
It made this the perfect spot for some privacy.
One could tell that the little girl was cold in the bloodied dress she was wearing, but he didn't have anything for her to wear at the moment. The most he could do was try to make her more comfortable.
"You can talk now." Adam sighed after seeing the expression beneath what used to be her eyes.
"Are you… a person?" The little girl asked, and he immediately knew what she meant in that respect.
After all, Humans didn't see 'Beasts' as people.
Regardless of how humanoid they might seem.
It wasn't something he blamed her for. After all, it was a mutual alienation both species reflected.
If it wasn't for Graham's memories in his head, then he also wouldn't have saw her as a 'person' too.
"Depends on how you look at it." Adam didn't speak the truth nor outright lie. There was no need.
"But you… understand me…" The little girl's words suddenly made him realise where her confusion came from. After all, the biggest problem that alienated their species was their vocabulary.
To be more precise, their lineage vocal ability.
Humans spoke in 'Human Tongue'. Beasts spoke in what was called 'Beast Tongue', and so forth…
This was more than a difference in learning.
Beasts like him didn't need to learn how to speak through writing. He specifically learnt orally.
Because no Beast was exactly the same.
Perhaps this was a difficult topic to dive into, but the crux of the matter was Beast Tongue's greatest flaw. The one weakness even Humanoid Beasts like him couldn't overcome… was talking to a Human.
Beast Tongue users could understand other Beast Tongue users instinctively without the need of exchanging scripted words, but Human Tongue users could only understand what they are taught.
Those of the Human Tongue had a versatile way of communicating through letters and arts, but couldn't understand Beasts due to not being able to script every single intricacies of their language.
It was the difference between talking with your head and understanding via sharing emotions.
This lead to the reason for her confusion…
If Adam was a Beast, why could they talk?

Looks like 'game logic' had been applied to him.
"I'm probably special then." Adam didn't hide the fact that he was different from her any longer.
"You are…"
"Adam Ocelot. And you?"
"It's… Sherry." The little girl was sucked up by his pace. Answering without doubting too much.
"Well then, Sherry… Can I ask something?" (Adam)
"Ask anything. I'll speak." Sherry didn't seem to mind anything that spoken by her saviour at all.
"How can you sense me?" Adam found this to be an important question. He needed to ask this.
"That's… your Mana… I can 'feel' it." Sherry's words made the boy think about her reactions a bit more.
He started to observe her to get the answer.
All that didn't matter right now anyway.
There was a reason he'd brought her here. He was about to do something she may not want to feel.
"I need to clean your wounds properly." Adam had told her only that much, but she didn't disagree.
The little girl bit her lips in anxiety.
"And don't to that. Here." The wolf boy continued by ripping a cloth off his sleeve and cleaning it up.
Thanks to having read 'Love Thy Shadow, Satan' in his free time, he knew exactly how Werewolves of the 'White' name used their abilities. His new traits were more better at utility, rather than only harm.
He used Weapon Unity to infuse his Light Mana into the cloth and cleaned it from the inside out.
Then continued to infuse the water drenching it as well. Purifying the impurities naturally within I.
He grabbed her jaw and placed the rolled up cloth in her mouth. Making her bite down on it instead.
What he was about to do would be real painful…
Adam placed his hand in the pool of water again and picked up a handful, then purified it for her.
He brought the imbued water up to her face.
"Huuu… Urgh…" Even though it was definitely an uncomfortable experience, Sherry was too strong.
Maybe even better than the women of his Clan.
The boy used the water as a medium to directly affect her flesh. Imbuing her wound with Mana.
It was a basic medical procedure normally only taught to those of the Moonlight Pack. His rivals.
But this was as good as it could get.
Adam couldn't regenerate her eyes. Only being able to clean and close up her wounded eyes.
After he was done, he took the long strip of cloth used to stop her from harming her mouth and wrapped it around her head. Turning it into a makeshift blindfold to cover up her eye sockets.
The patch up was crude, but it was good enough.
He just needed to get her checked out by the resident healing specialist of their Clan- No…
The boy stupidly forgot she wasn't a werewolf.
"Well, I'm done for now. Do you have anywhere to return to?" Adam asked, and the girl looked down in response: "I didn't think so. Don't worry. I'll take care of you until you can take care of yourself."
After finishing his sentence, the boy cleaned up her bare legs using his hands to check for any other wounds. Once they got back, she could be taken care of by Estelle. He was already making plans.
"…Why?" Sherry asked after a long pause.
It was natural she'd ask why he was being so nice.
"A man gotta take care of the weak." Adam noticed her frown after he'd said that to her, but doubled down on this without caring: "If you want to be treated as someone strong, then get better soon."
He patted her on the head unconsciously.
The boy saw the look on her face changed, but was unable to read it due the lack of having any eyes.
He wondered what this girl was thinking about…
…..
….
…
..
.
In the darkness of her sight, there was only one light. The magic fluctuations of the youth spoke everything she needed to know about him. He was likely a stranger she'd never met before in her life.
Still, he was treating her.
Wordlessly taking her in as his own as if it was only natural. Not bothering to explain his own actions.
The young girl felt conflicted…
'Do I deserve his help?' Sherry thought about what she had believed before her tragedy. The things she'd thought about Beasts until the moment she was saved by one. It was only natural to think this.
After all… She was a 'Hero Candidate'.
A slayer of Beasts. Protector of the people and only disciple of the greatest immortal of her generation.
This fact she'd keep hidden as long as she lived.
