Bab 44: Past memories V

The woman's expression shifted to one of shock as she glanced behind her.

"Didn't you hear me?" Alex repeated, raising his brows. "How much is the money?"

"Oh, Mr. Lopez," the doctor acknowledged, walking over to him. "How is she related to you?" the doctor asked.

"You don't have to worry about that," Alex reassured, "She's an acquaintance of mine. Just send me the details, and I'll transfer the money into your account immediately."

"Okay," the doctor said, handing over the receipt to Alex. In less than a minute, Alex completed the transaction and raised his phone for the doctor to see.

"I've cleared all the bills," he declared, then walked over to the lady, who was still kneeling on the floor. Standing tall in front of her, he extended his hand, which she hesitated to take before finally accepting it.

"Why did you help me?" the lady asked, her voice trembling with emotion.
