Alex remained silent for a moment, his gaze fixed on the ground as if lost in thought. Then, with a heavy sigh, he finally spoke. "I don't fit in," he admitted quietly.

I know how that feels," she said softly, reaching out to place a comforting hand on his shoulder. "But you don't have to be alone. You can join us if you want."

"Stop lying, you don't know how that feels," he said as he finally turned to face her.

Charissa met his gaze, "The feeling of being alone?" Charissa asked, her eyebrows raised inquisitively. "Of course I do," she said with a heavy sigh.

No," he replied firmly. "The feeling of losing someone close to you," he said, his voice tinged with a raw emotion that caught Charissa off guard.

Charissa's heart skipped a beat as she took in his words, her breath catching in her throat. At that moment, she saw a glimpse of the pain and sorrow that lay hidden behind Alexander's cold facade.
