Alex got into Charrisa's car and slammed the door shut, his presence instantly changing the atmosphere. They sat in silence for a full minute, gazing at each other, before Alex finally spoke.
"How have you been, Rissa?" he asked, his voice soft and gentle.
Charrisa smiled, shaking her head. "It's good to see you looking at me this way, Alex. Not with the usual anger, warning me not to hurt the woman you care about."
"Oh, I'm not sorry about that," Alex said, his tone unapologetic
"I came here to tell you something, Charrisa said."
Alex's eyes narrowed slightly. "You came here to say something else, not to apologize to me," Alex said, a playful glint in his eye.
Charrisa's expression turned serious.
"No, Alex, I don't owe you an apology. If anything, we've hurt each other, and I was the one who was hurt more. The only person I owe an apology to is Dunice, and I've already taken care of that. So, let's cut to the chase."
