Charlton observed Serena's side profile as she continued to watch Christopher and Annalys. She was acting like he wasn't standing beside her, but he knew that she's only acting that way so as not to reveal how much his presence was affecting her.

Her attempt was futile though. For looking towards her left hand, he could see her thumb and index finger rubbing against the edge of her dress. A mannerism he has long known about her whenever she's nervous. He smirked. Though almost four years have already passed, some things were still the same. Good.

Charlton moved closer beside Serena so that their arms were only about an inch apart. Then, he said in a low voice akin to a whisper. "Serena, don't be nervous, I'm not gonna bite."
