Shen Yuan stood in the courtyard with an unkind expression, Bai Xue, the pangolin, and Maine Coon all in front of him.

Bai Xue was squatting obediently in front of the Natural Spirit Pool, her beautiful heterochromatic eyes twinkling as she tried to charm her way out of the problem.

The pangolin, on the other hand, was frolicking in the Natural Spirit Pool, splashing water around with its golden head. It nuzzled Bai Xue with its head, acting like the spoilt son of the house.

The Maine Coon seemed a lot more honest. After a moment's hesitation, he mumbled,

"Apologies, sir. The pangolin didn't want to be separated from us, so after we discussed it, I hid him in my mouth and brought him back."

Shen Yuan cast a sidelong glance at the Maine Coon and retorted,

"Do I really look that easy to fool?"
