Bab 573: Carolyn's engagement____1

Carolyn's engagement banquet was held in the London palace. This was because Scarlet did not wish for a repeat of the mess in the castle in The Citadel. She also didn't want the nobles anywhere near the wine fountain. Nobody would be making a fool of themselves at this ceremony. 

Even then, the presence of the gods was not to be escaped. They seemed to have made themselves at home on the Blue star. They walked among the mortals, mixing within them and carrying on conversations as if they were ordinary humans. 

A lot of guests had been invited so even if there was a strange face, nobody questioned who the other was. The ceremony was invite only. As far as they were concerned, if one was there, they had a right to be there. 

To Scarlet's relief, they were on their best behavior at least. The worst thing to happen so far was chaos sending a couple of champagne glasses flying every now and then.
