Bab 29: Chapter 29
Amid a meadow, a woman in a yellow dress lay sleeping on the grass. Her wavy brown hair swayed around her head with the breeze. Across from her, a black wolf was hiding, watching her. This female human came here some time ago. She was a weak, harmless woman. Thus he, the majestic wolf, took on himself to protect her. There was a time when others all of a sudden appeared here. Like a white wolf or a boy, he knew before all hell broke loose.
But they left the woman and him, unfortunately.
His ears raised as he heard a rustle. He turned his head to see a tall man walking toward them. The man had untidy black hair with bright green eyes. His clothes were filthy and torn, as if he was returning from the war. The black wolf arose and grunted.
" I finally found you!"
The man leapt towards the wolf with excitement. The wolf dodged it by instinct. The sound of his falling to the ground woke the woman.
"What was that?" the woman asked, rubbing her eyes.
She glanced at him and froze. She crawled excitedly towards him.
" You are Mason? Right?"
"Who? No, I am not."
" What? But the description in the book matched you so much."
She just sat there frustrated. "What am I supposed to do? I got trapped here for almost a week." She held her knees in her arms.
The man paid no heed to her and searched for the wolf. He heard sniffing beside himself. The black wolf jumped on him before he could turn to the woman.
" Hey, what are you doing?"
The woman stood up and caught the wolf's nape. " Edwin! I told you, violence is not the answer to everything!"
The man had his mouth wide open. " How do you know his name is Edwin?"
" Ha? When I first saw it, the name just popped into my head. What's the big deal?"
The woman replied puzzledly.
"It's my wolf! You have no right to have it!"
The man shouted angrily. The black wolf snarled at him and shoved the woman behind himself.
"Why are you so protective of her? Did you forget about me? We stuck together through thick and thin. Why are you turning your back on me?"
The man said with a lump in his throat.
The woman looked between the wolf and the man. "Are you also from the famous book? The one with werewolves?"
"What are you talking about? Did you run away from the mental hospital?" The man retorted to her.
The black wolf sniffed the man. The wolf remembered this scent. It was his other half. But he's the one who walked out on him for years. The one who said he rather die than repeat the loop. The wolf decided to start anew, which inadvertently brought about the arrival of this woman.
The man bent down to stare at the wolf. Yet the wolf charged at the man with aggression. The woman screamed, frightened out of her wits.
" Don't, Don't kill him."
It was all to no avail. The eyes of the wolf reddened by butchering the man. He was dead long ago. It was nothing but fake.
Then he turned his head to the woman while blood dripped from his mouth. The woman took a step back, catching a glimpse of that.
The wolf approached her slowly.
In her mind, she heard the wolf speaking.
The voice was raspy and deep.
"If you intended to stay here, All you have to do is be one with me. At least in this world, you could do all you regret not doing. It is your golden opportunity."
"What are you? You're not the one who's been protecting me so far."
The woman asked with a shaking voice.
" I am the one who was beside you."
" You are lying! He won't ever hurt someone like that. You savage! Give back my gentle wolf!"
"Your wolf is me. The real one! Not the meek one who was playing around. You heartless woman don't want to accept it."
The woman shook her head. " No, Who yearns for a wolf like you?"
" That's okay. That man also didn't want me. You, an outsider, should leave before it is too late."
The sorrow she saw in the eyes of the wolf made her angry.
"Do you think I would like to be here? I have no means of going back to my world."
She Shouted at the wolf. Yet this did not stop the wolf from repeating the sentence.
The woman's eyes began to glow red.
She couldn't take it anymore and pounced on the wolf. " Shut up! I can't get out of here! I can't leave! Even if I could, I got nothing for myself there. At least here, I am not alone. I have a wolf as my companion, Who wouldn't leave me alone."
The woman hugged the wolf, crying.
"I promise I will be with you Forever."
Then The wolf bit her shoulder. The woman wept in agony and fainted.
Noah and Radin were talking about Kaveh's matter in the room when they overheard Edwin screaming.
"What the hell is going on? Is he in pain?"
Noah said, troubled.
Edwin lay on the bed, moved and moaned, a black coat over his body.
" Do something! He's about to change! Have you forgotten what happened to his brother? He is violent!" Noah urged Radin.
Radin was confused. In general, transforming into a wolf is deliberate or under the impact of the full moon.
" Radin! Release your phenomenon or mark him. Snap out of it!"
At the same time, Edwin's weight broke the bed. The sheet fell from him and showed a black wolf two meters in red eyes looking at them. Noah's leg gave way under him. The confined space made the wolf larger and more frightening.
Neither Radin nor Noah even dared to blink. Radin didn't know how to handle it. He was his mate, but They never bonded with each other. Also, Radin knew his wolf had no power against Edwin. He would never have the guts to injure him. If he couldn't win, it would have serious consequences. Letting a big wolf loose in the middle of town would put everyone in grave danger.
The wolf moved all of a sudden. He came up to them and towered over them. The two were rigid in terror. The wolf took a sniff and sat opposite them.
"That's it? What should we do?" Noah whispered to Radin.
" I think he knows us."
"He knew his brother, but he assaulted him," Noah replied.
"It was not the same. It was a full moon."
"You're such a useless person! Where is my capable big brother? If he had attacked us, we'd already be six feet in the ground!"
